Open Box Fender EXP-1 Expression Pedal Level 1
Description
In "volume" mode, indicated by illumination of the green LED, EXP-1 controls the master volume or can be turned off. In "expression" mode, indicated by illumination of the red LED, the EXP-1 controls most Mustang amp and effects parameters. Common among these, for example, are the frequency parameters of a wah effect and the rate/time parameters of modulation and delay effects.
The EXP-1 pedal puts great tonal control at your feet and provides a great way to make your Mustang amp or multi-effects unit even more fun, more expressive and more versatile.

Perfect!
Built strong. Works as volume pedal and expression pedal for effects such as delay and wah. Must be configured in Fuse software. Has a 1/4" jack to plug into 4 button footswitch and another to plug into Mustang amp, so the expression pedal and 4 button footswitch can be used at the same time. I believe this works only with Mustang III, IV, and V. I used this on a Mustang IV.

Very Good but one small problem
It works perfectly with the Fuse software and my Mustang III amp. It only operates on about 50% of pedal travel. The effect works 100%. Once the pedal is about 50% toe down there is no additional change in effect. I've tried recalibrating per the instructions in Fuse, still no full stroke. Others on the Fender Fuse forum have noted this problem and apparently Fender is working on a fix. I wanted a wah and volume pedal maybe I should have bought stand alone units and used them in the effects loop on the Mustang III.

Requires Fender FUSE software which is not only no longer supported by Fender but will not run on a Windows 10 system. Only have it 1 star because that's the lowest rating I could give it.

Bought this pedal with the Mustang GT 200 amp, thinking it would enhance my playing.... But boy was I wrong. This thing is a joke. You have to setup EVERY SINGLE PRESET to what you want this pedal to do for you. And if you choose a "GLOBAL setting" you only get Volume control.... And that in of itself is terrible. Even at MAX volume (on the pedal), it's only about HALF where it would be otherwise, and you'd need to turn the Master Volume up a lot just to get it where you want it.... The pedal sucks the volume right out of the amp. I mentioned having to setup EACH and EVERY preset for what you want the pedal to do for you... WHO's BIG IDEA was this??? VERY TIME CONSUMING. You would have to sit for hours and hours just to get the effects you are looking for it to do. When all you want to do is play your guitar... Don't waste your money on this thing. You'll be very sorry like I was. Needless to say.... IT WENT BACK TO THE STORE!

Nothing good to say. Only can function as an on/off switch. no volume nor expression control at all. Instructions are non-existent. Do not waste time nor money on this.
Not too bad...

I went through 2 of these, both ordered new through Guitar Center. The first one was too easily engaged and would sometimes not power up if it were connected to the amp when I powered on the amp. The second one, again too easily engaged, after a few weeks I ran into the same problem where it didn't power on occasionally. Now I'm using a Digitech RP-500 in front for Volume and wah. The EXP-1 was a PITA, the switches on the 2 I received were never right, if you were using it for wah it was disengage back to volume no matter how light your touch is. Fender Mustangs are great amps but honestly the 2/4 button footswitch setup sucks. The Sanpera is a great controller for the Vypyrs... if fender would come out with something like that for the Mustangs it would be great. In fact the Mustang Floor layout would be great but design one as just a controller for the mustang,
