Description
The Electro-Voice EKX-18SP powered subwoofer, designed to provide chest-thumping bass for live performance and installed applications. This 18" subwoofer combines a robust 1,300W amplifier with Electro-Voice's legendary transducer technology to deliver up to 134dB of deep, distortion-free low frequency response.
Massive 18" Woofer and 1,300W Amplifier
At the heart of the EKX-18SP is an 18" EVS-18C woofer, engineered by Electro-Voice to provide tight, accurate bass with minimal power compression. This woofer is driven by a 1,300W Class-D amplifier, giving the EKX-18SP the power and headroom to produce a solid bass foundation for any venue.
Superior Bass Extension and Low Distortion
The EKX-18SP's large slot ports and tuned enclosure are optimized for maximum low-frequency output with minimal distortion. This design, combined with the EVS-18C's 4" voice coil and dual spiders, allows the EKX-18SP to dig deep and extend bass response lower than comparable powered subs.
Reduced Stage Noise and Digital Signal Processing
Electro-Voice's exclusive Cardioid Control Technology provides a 35dB reduction in stage noise by controlling the dispersion of rear-facing low frequencies. The EKX-18SP also includes digital signal processing which provides convenient presets, system-match crossovers for use with EKX tops and protection limiting.
Road-Ready Design
The EKX-18SP's 15 mm. plywood enclosure with internal bracing is built to handle the rigors of live touring. Multiple mounting points allow for pole-mounting or suspension and recessed handles make transporting this 91lb. subwoofer easy.

Great sub
This sub is a upgraded elx118 which is not a bad thing. Heavier cab, better finish, great DSP, and very portable. I did a high school senior picnic with about 160-200 ppl in a gymnasium with just one sub and it did great. Depending on the room you are playing in, you can really feel the bass. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was b/c it limits easily but there is 2 limit stages which is a nice feature. Overall its a great sub and you wont be disappointed!

This product is okay if it worked right
I play in a band first time to use it it quit working about 10 minutes of use send it back for repair and the same thing happen again I will be sending it back for a second time maybe it's just this amp but I hope they can fix it for good this time as it was a lot of money to not be able to use as intended

For its size, this subwoofer GROWLS!!! I originally had my sights set on the EV ZLX200 18" Powered Sub, but my Guitar Center was out of stock, and I needed a subwoofer for a special function in a couple of days, so Big Jay at GC Honolulu went above and beyond the call of service to educate me and fit the EV EKX-18SP into my budget...and my truck!!! I am soo glad I opted for this sub!!! Sure its a little bigger and heavier than the ZLX-200, but it's a 1300-watt 18"subwoofer that GROWLS!!! Although I'm grabbing a 2nd one next week (thanks to Big Jay), just ONE of these subs blew the "doors" off the function...it was, however, an outdoor party and boy did the low-end carry through the entire venue! About 200 people in attendance, an outdoor venue, running (2) EV ZLX-15P's and (1) EV EKX-18SP...I have no doubt that adding one more EKX-18SP to this set-up, you could easily handle a venue up to 500 people...

I have just bought a set of electro voice speakers and was wondering with how expensive they are why they didn't come with covering or a bag. On the other hand the service and the product is amazing at guitar center and have interested a bunch of my friends on seeing you guys.I was at our local location in Hawaii and the salesman said they were sold out on the model that I have so I told him my friends have one each and there is six of us. I would Ike to say I've helped make a few sales but in reality the product speaks for its self. Thanks for your time and hope to continue doing business! Mahalo🤙
I believe the reason they don't include bags or coverings is because some people are alright with the bag, and some would prefer a hardshell case, due to this they are sold separately.
