Electro-Harmonix Bass Clone Chorus

Electro-Harmonix

collapse expand iconDescription

The Bass Clone chorus pedal’s core circuitry is nearly identical to the legendary Small Clone chorus, but with added features especially for bass. Chorus is a combination of modulated and dry signals. The Bass Clone’s Crossover switch cuts low end from the modulated signal so the pedal delivers a more accurately articulated bottom end with excellent note definition. The Treble control affects the whole signal while the Bass control only affects the dry half. Together with the Crossover switch they provide precise sound shaping that lets you achieve a tight, focused bass guitar sound with a well-defined low end and shimmering chorus on top.

I got this to replace my Boss Bass Chorus pedals. They sound good but the on/off light is so dim in each of them that I couldn't tell if they were on or off, especially on sunny outdoor gigs. Not with this guy! Nice bright light and great sound - just took a bit to dial it in but overall this suits my needs far better than any other chorus pedal I've ever used. Highly recommend!

It's... ok!

I love nothing more than a good chorus pedal, and I'll be damned, this is a good chorus. *Just* good, nothing more. It excels at that sort of vacuumy Small Clone sound that Nirvana geeks idolize, but frankly, it's a bit limited in its use case. It sounds great on bass and guitar, so no need to buy both models. Frankly, this is the better product - it's just a Small Clone but with MORE features! I'm just not Small Clone crazy. I'll take a more versatile pedal, like... the Danelectro Fab Chorus. You heard me. I tested for an hour and couldn't find a single effect on the Bass Clone that the Fab Chorus couldn't recreate. Take that how you will.

Been playing bass for 43 years all kinds of genres. Mostly just play at home now. This chorus is perfect for my sound. Works well anywhere in my signal path. EHX pedals give me plenty of range and never overwhelm.

  • Let the chorus sing!

Bass chorus I personally feel is integral to a great sound. This stomp box just goes above and beyond!

  • Not worth the cost. Basic features not working properly.

Sounds wise the pedal works fine (a volume knob would be a good addition though). Bought it brand new and not only the activation clip doesn't work perfectly as the led indicator of when the pedal is engaged or not doesn't work too.

  • Noisey!

Wow, just got this and although the effect is cool, it is so noisey..scratchy...like the pots need to be cleaned or something, that it is unusable. Getting returned tomorrow.
