Goodtime Americana Banjo 12 In. Rim

Goodtime Americana - A Closer Look

Description
Continuing the long-standing Goodtime philosophy of offering the best value American-made banjos available, the Americana is among the lowest-priced 12" models on the market today and retains the distinctive natural blonde Goodtime aesthetics. In keeping with the rest of the Goodtime line, this banjo also features guitar-style tuners, a rock maple neck, nickel-plated hardware and hardwood inlays.
Played with an old-time style technique, the Americana is reminiscent of banjos from a period when larger rims were more prevalent making the 12" a great setup for playing old-time music. A traditional 11" banjo with a frosted top head has a far brighter sound and will cut more. Since the combination of the Grand 12" rim and the Renaissance head makes for a wonderfully laidback sound in comparison, the Americana lends itself perfectly for musicians looking to use the banjo to back up a vocalist or another instrument, instead of playing the a lead instrument role.

It's so beautiful that I hang it on the wall as art.

This banjo has booming sound and is really well made. It's worth every penny; actually, probably worth many more pennies. The maple is beautiful, it's a solid instrument and will last a lifetime or two. I love it, I hug it everyday. My only complaint is that it was shipped free-floating in its box and I don't think that's cool at all, I want my baby wrapped with some love please. If you're on the fence about it, fear not, you'll be very happy with it, just make sure you ask that it be packaged with a bunch of bubble-wrap.
Good purchase

Long time guitar player, but this was my first banjo. I wasn't disappointed. A good sound, very nice playability. I'm still a novice so it's hard to give details, but overall it's pleasant to play.
Used trade in sale. Great experience!

Just got a Deering Goodtime Americana 5 string banjo. Only had it a week, but it is beautiful. Still adjusting to the larger pot on the Americana, but because of it and it's pretty frosted translucent head it has a lovely and more mellow sound for a banjo. Still in the honeymoon phase, but so far I'm very happy.
Amazing!
