Tone is fantastic. From the very first time I plugged into this product I fell in love with the sound and expression Maragold offers. Thank you Greg and DV Mark.
Nice clean, really good overdrive, lightweight

This amp surprised me. I bought it 3 years ago at GC store in Tempe, AZ. At that time I was looking for a small amp with 2 channels (between 15w and 30w) with a nice clean headroom and (despite its 40w) I decided to get this one because: first, it's light; 2nd, the volume pot is controllable (not too sensitive, like a Fender HR); 3rd, nice clean (sounds like Fender, with less low frequencies); 4th, really, really nice overdrive (full, organic, defined, like a full cranked Plexi). If you search for Greg Howe's review of this amp on YT, the sounds he took from it are really, really close from the live sound you can get it. There are some downsides that you should be aware of (the last one is really relevant): - amp channels sound like 2 different amps: unfortunately, the lead channel doesn't have the low end you can find in the clean channel. They probably were voiced differently. - The bass controls for both channels don't seem to work well, however, it's also a cabinet flaw. I connected the amp's preamp on my computer, using some plugins to emulate cabinets, and I could hear the low end, but it wasn't so tight and punch. Anyway, if you plug this amp into DV Mark cab, it will sound tight, but maybe you will miss some low end in the lead channel. - You can get amazing crunch sounds from the clean channel, but you can't using the lead one. If you use the gain setting below 9:30h, you'll lose definition. If you use over 2 o'clock, the drive becomes muddy. The sweet spot is between 10 and 1 o'clock, and you'll not hear a lot of difference between it. (But don't take me wrong, once again: this amp has one of the best overdrives that I've ever heard) - Biggest issue: this amp comes with a cooler, like a computer cabinet cooler. And it's enough loud to disturb you if you are playing in your bedroom or in a studio. In live situations, you won't notice it. Also, the cooler used on the newer models are noisier than the old model. DV Mark should be more careful about it.

Cheap made in a seat shop in Indonesia , cheap parts , poor design , fixed bias , hi rate of failure . Stay away from this one no matter the price deal . Or the glowing review by a shill . Disposable amp to costly .

Found this item on clearance & took a chance on it , what an incredible head . Running through an egnater tweeker 1x12 along with an egnater rebel 30 +1x12 in stereo with stereo effect loops . The fullness of the sound is impressive to say the least. DV mark maragold vs Egnater Rebel 30 ...... DV mark wins hands down .
Superb sounding, lightweight amplifier.

This amp is a hidden gem. I was not at all familiar with DV Mark amps, but I went in the store to test out some guitars, and ended up falling in love with this amp, so it came home with me. Absolutely fantastic tone. It has a very nice, punchy clean channel, and a thick, warm sounding lead channel with British bite to it, very similar to my old Bogner Triple Giant preamp, which I loved. To top it all off, it is very lightweight and easy to take to gigs. It is also LOUD. The clean channel rarely goes past 9:00 on the volume for gigs. The only cons would be that the lead channel can get pretty noisy at gigging volume with the gain past 2:00 (which is pretty high gain), and it does not come with a footswitch. I run the gain at around noon, which is plenty for hard rock, and it is fairly quiet. The lack of reverb is not an issue to me, as I use pedals.

Good amp at decent price , bring your own pedal board . stands on its end , good for space saving . el34s run your synth thru it also .
