Bang For Your Buck
I purchased these Dr.Pro 36'' monitor stands (37'' with feet and foam pad installed) because I needed better isolation for my near-field monitors. I bought a pair of black stands from the local Guitar Center and was very pleased with my purchase. Here's a detailed breakdown of these monitor stands for anyone interesting in buying them. Pros:: -Very Reasonably Priced: At this price these monitor stands are hard to beat. -Quality Construction: These stands are built out of metal and wood, all the hardware is metal. No cheapy plastic parts! (except the cable clips which has not been an issue) -Aesthetically Pleasing: The Dr.Pro's look very professional and will look great in any environment. I purchased the black stands and they look awesome with all of my other furniture and gear. -Easy To Install: It took me about 45 minutes to install these stands, including the time it took to fill them with sand. The instructions are very easy to follow. -Additional Features: The 2 metal posts are hollow so you have the option to fill them with sand or shot. I purchased a bag of play sand and a funnel for $5.00. Filling your stands not only adds stability, but also reduces vibrations from the stands. Once filled, they are still light-weight enough to move around with ease. The Dr.Pro's also include several different options for feet depending on whether they will be set on carpet (metal spikes) or a hard surface such as wood or tile (rubber feet). Cons:: -Size: Although the hight of the stands are ideal, the bottom base and top platform are a little on the small side. These stands are great for small-medium sized monitors. But placing large monitors on them might leave you feeling a little uneasy. A few more surface inches could have made these stands near perfect.. -Design Flaw: I noticed that once I filled the stands with sand, the rubber gasket does not sit flush with the top of the stand leaving a small gap in the seal. The problem with this is when you go to move/pick up your stands or tilt them, some sand will leak out of the top. This does not effect the stand's function but is a little annoying to be cleaning a trail of sand everywhere you move you monitors. (The gaskets on the bottom, however, seal up fine) -Dust and Finger Print Magnet: At least for the black stands, they attract dust and fingerprints like crazy. Although this should not be a big issue because you probably wont be touching your stands much once you have them set in place... Overall, the Dr.Pro 36'' monitor stands are a great solution for anyone who is looking to buy an affordable, yet durable pair of monitor stands for a small-to-medium sized pair of monitors. I highly recommend them!

I would not buy this item again
I purchased this product to set/mount my home studio's Yamaha HS8 sound monitors on to get them off my computer/monitor and mixing console table unit. The sales person assured me the box had never been open as the taping looked suspect (being re-taped). After opening the box and reading the instructions I started the assembly process. During the assembly I noticed both of the factory manufactured columns had one side (with the of the metal end plates) which attaches the speaker stand top plate via screws to the column, was not flush with the end and extended out approximately 3/8th inch past the end of each column. This made the top plate sit at an angle (not level) which would not support any type of speaker. Also the package the screws were in was found to have been previously opened and a piece of tape was securing it. Furthermore it was noted one of the screws was found to have been cross threaded/stripped out about halfway down the screw's length. A call to the store was made and the store's associate opened the store's other boxed item on the shelf. It was found to also have both of the column's manufactured metal end plates protruding past the end of the column (Misaligned). Being a retired military maintenance test pilot and maintenance officer (also a hobby wood worker) I found tapping the metal end plate and wood section protruding past the end allowed the wood and metal section to slide down the column and realign with the other screw surfaces (these parts are not glued, don't know why). I also bought a new (better screw which I used lock tight on to secure the stripped metal end plate and new screw together when mounting the stand's top. Unless you are willing to correct the manufacture's defects I would not recommend these speaker stands.

Terrible build quality

Hole spacing for screws is uneven and causes cross threading. And the wood is uneven resulting in not a square surface for your speakers. Do not buy.
It looks good but terrible manufacturing quality

It looks like a very stable stand, it is heavy and looks nice. But it was impossible to put together the holes doesn't match the bases, impossible to put together, screws are cheap too.

Straight out of the box the black paper coating on the outside was chipping off at the ends. Numerous dents on the metal tube. Scratches on the black finish. The holes on the post were 8.5cm apart but 9cm on the base and top. No way to make it work. The way the posts are made is not secure and well thought out, with the bonding of the MDF to the metal. Just bought a pair of Adam A7Vs and wanted a sturdy set of stands. Would not recommend these.
Useless product.

On my second set already and I will not bother with round 3. The first set was damaged. That probably wasn't the manufacturer's fault, although seeing the rest of these reviews I am not so sure. Second set I got one assembled but the base won't go on the second one because the holes in the base don't line up with the holes in the pillar. Gets 2 stars because one of them went together but just a pain not worth dealing with.
Better than I expected...

I hesitated to purchase these as there are a fair number of negative reviews. That said, I am very happy with the purchase. I had to redrill one hole to attach the base (screws didn't line up). But that took 5 minutes with a regular drill bit, so no big deal. Love the end result.

Are the carpet spikes adjustable in case the floor happens to be uneven? Are you able to adjust the feet if you're on a flat surface like a hardwood floor? Thx!
