I got this on a deal of the day and frankly, it's a great guitar even at the regular price. These are well made, great quality instruments that sound good and play well. The setup was pretty good on this guitar when I got it, just a minor adjustment and it was right where I wanted it.

I ended up getting this guitar due to a really low temporary price and expected a guitar with some compromises, but there really aren't any. It's a very cleanly made and well designed small laminated hollow body - easier to sit and play with than a larger hollowbody, and with a little more familiar feel proportionally for someone used to electrics. Nice level of sound for late night practicing without an amp and strings closer to the body than something like a 16" or 17" full spruce top hollowbody. Really super pleased with it, especially for the short special price (keep your eyes open, one comes up for a shocking price and then it's gone...then another). If you took the stickers off of it, nobody would ever guess it was imported. the guitar as whole to me seems nicer than a japanese made gretsch 6120 that I had years ago. Higher finish level (perfect binding, fretwork, no high frets, great finish work, nice appointments with the inlays in the peghead and neck, and the truss rod cover), perfectly executed and much less expensive.

Really fun to play, fingers just sail over the fretboard. There was some earlier confusion on whether this was part of the "Premier Series", but the description was updated to indicate that it isn't. I had to have the intonation adjusted on the B and High E, but the GC luthier fixed it for me for free. All and all, I'm very happy with the purchase.

The header says that the excel is on sale. The description describes the premier, which is a considerably less expensive guitar. What's up with that GC?
