Charvel

Description

An ideal instrument for dazzling high-speed playing, the Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas Style 1 HSS FR M boasts scorching sound, stunning style and outstanding playability. An alder body is coupled with a bolt-on maple neck with a pair of graphite-reinforcement rods to resist bending and warping under environmental stress, making this durable guitar capable of withstanding the most aggressive playing styles. A thin neck profile allows for lightning fast playing while rolled fingerboard edges provide a comfortable feel. The humbucking Seymour Duncan JB TB-4 bridge pickup, single-coil Seymour Duncan Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 middle and Custom Flat Strat SSL-6 RWRP neck pickups are mounted directly to the body for increased vibration transfer. This powerful pickup trio produces aggressive harmonics for distinguished blues and metal runs with the perfect blend of heightened output and springy Stratocaster attitude. Plus, the Floyd Rose 1000 double-locking tremolo bridge system allows you to dive to rumbling depths or add a well-placed rising harmonic without sacrificing your tuning.

I had the guitar delivered to a GC near me. Charvel Quality Control is poor. The guitar was carelessly crammed into the box. The manufacturer documentation was crumpled/smashed. The Floyd fine tuners are flimsy, the trem springs are weak, there was glue on fretboard. I would have returned it but missed the 45 day limit because life is busy. Many of the issues I didn't find out right away, but over time as I had time to change strings, clean up the guitar, set-up/level the Floyd trem. Since I couldn't return it, I ended up installing heavier trem springs and a heavier, brass trem block. That helped, but I am pretty disappointed with the experience. I thought owning a Charvel would be pretty cool, but now I wish I hadn't bought it....or at least figured it out before 45 days and returned it to GC.
