I'm a former band director. In retirement, I've recently taken up orchestral strings (viola and cello). I have students on violin and viola, so I wanted this violina to be able to play both ranges on one instrument. My biggest problem is that I broke the D, A and E strings while trying to tune it. Though pictures showed it with all five fine tuners, It only came a fine tuner for the E string. I have replaced strings on my viola and cello without breaking any of them, But my viola has fine tuners, and the cello has geared tuners. With this violina, I could not get the string tension up to the required pitch without breaking these strings. I took it to a local music store and got those strings replaced. Otherwise, I'm pleased with the violina. But the 100/1 ratio pegs proved difficult to control properly for me. Of course, it does require tuning more often with new strings (as one should expect). I'm "gun shy" tuning it now - without fine tuners. I'd have given it 5 stars if it had the 5 fine tuners as pictured.

Reasonable build and sound quality.. from what I can tell. The E, A and D strings all broke upon first tuning! Bow is straight, seems OK, again at this price level. I will likely buy a composite bow to replace the one it came with.. after I go to Guitar Center to replace the strings that all broke. Then I can finally really hear and play this thing. Case is nice and fit the instrument well. Varnish is very soft and easily scratched.

Hello. Not concerned about the strings as I will replace strings with my choice of strings. Question: Can I get this instrument with a 1/4" TRS pickup connection on the left side and not the band.

Blemished Bellafina Violina 5-string Violin Outfit 16 In 190839532619. I was looking at this viola and was wondering the width at the nut and the distance between the strings. my concern is if the strings are closer together on this 5 string as compared to a 4 string viola. Would anyone be able to answer that. I would greatly appreciate it would help me confirm a sale on this one for sure. thanks
