Open Box Bass Plate Bass Pedal Docking Plate Level 1

Description
The Bass Plate bass drum pedal dock improves the sound, protects the hoop, and increases the stability of the bass drum. It also provides the added benefit of lateral pedal positioning. The Beater Plate is the only after-market docking device that quickly, safely, and securely attaches directly to the drum.
The device affixes to kick drum lugs, is installed by removal of lugs and will not impede a bass drum from fitting into a case.

Fuller Bass Drum Sound
I have muffling inside my bass drum, but the addition of a Bass Plate still improved the sound by making it less "boxy" sounding. A full sound takes a bit less effort. I use a newer DW pedal. The clamp fits under the hoop because I have the spurs set at a height where the drum shell is parallel to the floor (not tilted upward like a cannon) when the pedal is on.

Give your kick drum some resonance
You also need to purchase bass drum beaters that have longer beater heads I use The DW 5002 double pedal and I had to swap out the DW beaters for Tama Iron Cobra beaters to be able to reach the batter head at the impact point because the bass plate moves your entire pedal farther away from the drum I really like the product it is just overcoming switching out lug screws and washers and bass drum beaters to have it functional

Brought Bass Drum to Life!

Bass Plate fixed my drum sound. I have a bass drum that I knew should be giving me more oomph. It sounded okay, but it was more like a "bam" sound than a "boom" sound. Previously, I had gotten more response out of the drum by switching from a Powerstroke (single ply with ring) to a double-ply (no ring). This thicker head seemed to activate more of the low end. But the drum still seemed subdued. I added a Bass Plate, and the rumble came out -- it released the Kraken! I don't always play loud. It depends on the gig. But, no matter the volume, the drum sound is fuller and the drum is easier to play. Bass Plate gets the drum off the floor, and that seems to be the magic.
Powerful, more musical bass drum sound

Bass Plate is one very sturdy piece. It lifts the drum up one inch. I thought it would lift the drum more, but it lifts it just enough to get the pedal on. You clamp your pedal onto Bass Plate's flat platform, rather than the drum's wood hoop. The new bass drum sound is more natural, with less of a cardboard thump quality. It lets the drum breathe and fit better in the mix. Yes, there are differences in pedals. So, a few pedals, like Tama (which has an unusually thick clamp) and probably Gibraltar (which has a thumbscrew on top of the clamp) will not fit in the space under the wood hoop so they could clamp onto the Bass Plate. But most pedals would definitely work. I have a new DW, a Pearl, and an old Yamaha, and they all work with the Bass Plate.

The fact that this product is NOT compatible with all pedals NEEDS to be in the description. I purchased this product, waited a month for it to arrive since it was on backorder, only to find out it was not compatible with my Tama pedals.
Does Exactly what it says it does.

First let me say that this is my second purchase of a Bass Plate so that alone should tell you that I Liked the first one so much that I bought another one for my 2nd drum kit. Anyways pretty much every single claim the Bass Plate makes is True and what I love the most about it is that it gives my BD more natural resonance.

Greatly improved kick sound, really opens it up, centers it directly on the head, and no more chewed up hoops! I was having some problems getting it mounted (due to the kick lugs being slightly drilled off kilter) so I emailed the company, he responded back within an hour and gave some pointers to slightly bend the bass plate to fit and asked more questions to get it mounted! Now that is customer service!!

Where was this 30 years ago?! No more chewed-up bass drum hoop. Bass Plate gets the drum about an inch off the ground. Relatively easy to get used to: Set your spurs' height so the drum is perfectly level with the ground when the pedal is clamped on the Bass Plate. The pedal's clamp fits in the space between the Bass Plate and the below the wood hoop. The feel of the beater hitting is solid, like before, but the drum sound is more lively.
