I purchased as an upgrade, or so I thought. It's great to have a complete package with everything you need. The equipment isn't great in this package. The Mac Mini is about as fast as my old XP machine. The other review said 8GB of RAM but it's only 4GB. It has a 1.4 GHz i5. It also has a 500GB HDD. It is a slow machine that fills up fast. The software it comes with is so so at best. I can't even register some of it with the keys it comes with... for some reason (Wave Arts in Protools). Just use Garage Band to eliminate hassle. I don't know why the black Presonus box is limited edition or special edition.... you can get it on it's own without the bundle ($99.99). The Mics are ok. Limited on adjustments compared to my AKGs. The monitor is nice. About the most quality item in the kit. Comes with Mic cables. You could probaly build a better setup for less on your own. I have alot of experience, so setup was easy. If you don't have any experience or are novice, good luck. It comes with a quick setup guide but that's it. It tells you how to hook everything up. From there you'll have to make adjustments and tweak settings on your own. Overall disappointing for a Mac setup. Not very responsive and slow. I mean sloooww. But is useable. I was questioning buying it because of the return policy (says no returns). If you have any doubts-DO NOT BUY.
I would not buy this product again

The software that is included with this recording bundle is more than just complicated, you need a degree in engineering. It is useless to me. The Mac Mini is ok, with 8GB ram i thought it would operate faster, it is as slow as older Macs
I returned this product and do not recommend.

I play guitar, bass and sing. I have a Boss BR-900CD recorder that I have used for several years and decided to upgrade. I expected to purchase this product, spend a couple of hours setting it up and start recording. I was not made aware that I would have to spend many, many hours trying to download the software from seven different vendors to complete the product. Some of the websites provided offered different products than listed in the paperwork and some indicated they were incompatible with the Apple product. When I called the store for help, I talked with three different people in the recording/audio department and get the runaround. The actual salesperson offered to come to my house and help resolve the software issues, but said he was busy for the next week or so. He also said I could not bring it to the store because they would not have the internet access? The salesperson then hooked me up with another 'specialist". one of the first things this specialist said is that he charged $100 per hour to try to resolve my problems. He wasn't sure how many hours it would take. he then took my phone number and said he would call back with a solution. After two days of not hearing from him, I packaged up the unit and took it back. When I tried to return it, they told me that I could not return it because I had already downloaded some of the software onto the system. Since the downloading of the software WAS the problem, I refused to accepts this answer. The employees know I was having software issues when we talked on the phone and they still said it was OK to bring it back within 30 days. That all changed when I actually tried to return it. Luckily, the assistant manager got involved in the return process and eventually conceded to take the system for return. He managed to salvage the customer service experience.

I have read some reviews on this product, and would like some clarification on the specs of the Mac mini that comes with this. What year is it? Ram? GHz? Hard drive? Etc
The Apple Mac mini "Core i5" 1.4 (Late 2014/Aluminum Unibody) features a 22 nm "Haswell" 1.4 GHz Intel "Core i5" (4260U) processor with two independent processor "cores" on a single chip, a 3 MB shared level 3 cache, 4 GB of onboard 1600 MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM (which could be upgraded to 8 GB or 16 GB at the initial time of system purchase, but cannot be upgraded later), a 500 GB hard drive, and an "integrated" Intel HD Graphics 5000 graphics processor that shares system memory.submitted6 years ago
