Ampeg | Rocket Bass Series Overview

Ampeg | Rocket Bass Series Overview

Description

The Ampeg Rocket Bass 115 amp is a high-performance amp with 200 watts of power packed into a portable cabinet. It features a 3-band EQ, an overdrive circuit and an effects loop to expand the tonal possibilities, while an XLR output directly connects to a PA or recorder. An auxiliary input makes it easy to jam to external audio sources, and a headphone out keeps the noise levels down for the neighbors. The RB 115 is an ideal combo for the bassist looking for an amp versatile enough to go from practice to performance with no problem.

Main Features

  • 200W
  • Solid-state amplifier, 3-band EQ, Super Grit overdrive (footswitch-capable), effects loop
  • XLR out, headphone out, extension speaker out, auxiliary in
  • 15" custom Lavoce speaker

Powerful and Lightweight

Weighing only 34 lb., it's easy to move the Rocket Bass from the bedroom to the garage, or into the van for a gig. The solid-state power section is a massive 200 watts, enough to handle stages of all sizes. The 15" custom Lavoce speaker delivers warm, rich tone and deep bass.

Super Grit Technology/3-Band EQ

Clean sound is great for Sunday morning jam sessions, but when it’s time to kick it up a notch, the Rocket Bass is ready. The Super Grit overdrive provides more punch; the 3-band EQ and Ultra Hi/Ultra Lo switches make it easy to add your own sonic flavor to the mix.

Versatile Inputs and Outputs

Plug the 115 directly to a mixing board with the XLR out, or connect another cabinet with the extension speaker input. This Ampeg also offers an effects loop, auxiliary input and headphone output.

Vintage Style

Streamlined ’60s style puts the focus right where it should be—on stellar bass tone. The Rocket Bass RB-115 features easily accessible top-mounted controls and a classic vintage design that sets the stage perfectly for laying down bass grooves from any era.

When you plug in auxiliary jack, you can play along with music, and music comes out heavy on bass so it is easier to hear bass in auxiliary. Only con is that you can't control auxiliary with knobs. Can't control volume or bass or treble in auxiliary jack

I used this Ampeg RB-115 at home for bass practice. I rarely turned the volume past 50% and only played a couple times a week. I purchased this amp from GC in February of this year and I'm already having to get a repair ticket from Ampeg. It sounds like the speaker is going out. Crackling and on and off sound. At first I thought it was my pedals..but after connecting straight to the amp from my 5 string it definitely got problems...and that is a shame too because this amp is almost $600 and sounded good while it lasted. Just hope I can get them to fix it or I'm not paying for it !

I downsized from a 410 cab and 300 watt head a while ago, and got this to replace it. I like it - it reminds me of an Ampeg BA115AV I used to have. The RB-115 sounds good; it's also light and loud.

  • Good product, GC tried to pass floor model off as new.
