The Allen & Heath ZED-24 audio mixer has a fantastic pedigree: nearly 40 years of making mixing desks for professional sound engineers. The ZED-24 mixer's audio circuitry is based on years of continual development and refinement. All the elements within the mixer have been perfected to insure the very best sound quality possible.

This is a mixer with broad appeal, from entry-level to professionals. You get fantastic sound, rugged build quality and imaginative features. The ZED-24 mixer is equally happy running your gig on stage, recording live or mixing down in your studio at home.

The features are incredibly advanced for a mixer at this level. The ZED-24 has 23 independent sources to the mix, 10 independent outputs, four AUX sends (two pre and two post fade), a USB send and return for PC or Mac recording, playback and effects, a unique dual stereo input capability and some very advanced monitoring facilities.

In fact, the ZED-24 mixer is so packed with great features that you'd think it would cost much, much more. In addition to 16 mono channels, there are four stereo channels, each with a main stereo input on jack sockets and the ability to take additional stereo inputs from phono sockets or from the USB audio input, enabling you to control and route any source.

The ZED-24 mixer features a responsive 3-band swept-mid EQ, with an optimized slope for equalizing individual instruments. The ZED-24 also features high-quality DuoPre pre-amps, which use a two-stage design, with carefully controlled amounts of gain in each stage, offering lots of headroom.

    All I can say...don't use this in your home studio as a line mixer. The amount of noise this board produced was rediculous. I sold it after 5 months. Good riddance.

    I purchased an A&H ZED 24 to replace an ART mixer that was showing its age. The difference in sound quality was obvious as soon as we powered up the ZED 24. Tremendous headroom in the inputs, very clean, excellent EQ and with 16 inserts we have the ability to add plenty of outboard effects or feed individual channels to a multi-track DAW using the "insert as Direct-out" trick. The USB capability is a nice feature but is limited to feeding only the two main channels of the mix. But this is a great tool for a quick way to record practices and live performances. It gives you the opportunity to easily hear what the audience will hear. Great product. Glad I bought it. It meets or exceeds all of our expectations.

    I've used Allen & Heath's in venues for years and wanted to purchase one of my own to get things going with my entrepreneurship. With limited money, I picked this one and I love it. Still trying to figure out the USB capabilities and subtle differences between boards, but I enjoy the sound that emerges from this lovely thing. If you know how to use it, it can be a dangerous force. So far the signal into Logic Express isn't bad; can be a bit low at times, but I put a gain plugin on it and it does nicely. I'm also using this to build skills in mixing down live shows for stereo to use in/over videos. Allen & Heath's EQs sound marvelous.

    We haven't had the new mixer too long however, so far it's lived up to its reputation. The sound is clear and crisp and makes our old mixer sound like mud. I'm still trying to figure out how to use the usb to send sound to the computer but I hope to accomplish this in the near future. I would recommed this mixer to anyone without reservation.

    I just bought this mixer for a 4 piece rock band and all I can say is "wow". Set aside just how beautiful the mixer looks when you take it out of the box and you'll notice that the board is solid as a rock. Weighs about 20lbs and it feels like it could take a beating. I upgraded from a Yamaha board and the clarity and crispness that this board gives off is amazing. The sound is professional level and the layout is very easy to work with. For live shows and recording on the go this board can't be beat.

    Hey, I'm interested in purchasing the Allen and Heath ZED-24 Mixer for my home studio. I'm curious as to if it will be compatible for that type of use. Also, say I run 7 drum microphones into the mixer and out of the USB into my PC and into my DAW, will it be able to record to seven different tracks or will it be crunched down to two channels?
