First the amazing Alesis Strike and Strike Pro electronic drum kits did what no electronic kits had ever done before—they delivered an authentic drumming experience with all the responsiveness and tonal realism of your favorite acoustic drums, but also with the versatility and creative possibilities that only the very best electronic drums can deliver. The percussion universe would never be the same. Now the universe of electronic percussion pads has been rocked with a seismic shift that is off the scale: Here is the Strike MultiPad from Alesis. The first percussion pad incredible enough to earn the Strike name. A percussion pad like no other. Time to throw out your preconceived notions. It’s time to unlock your imagination.

Introducing Strike MultiPad

Alesis designed the Strike MultiPad around the drummer’s requirement to be able to sample, edit, loop and perform in a seamless manner. To that end, the Strike MultiPad offers an incredible 7,000+ built-in sounds, 32GB of storage and the ability to record samples from any source (smartphone, mic, off the internet, via USB, from virtually any other audio device). The nine velocity-sensitive pads have customizable RGB lights and are easily configured for maximum playing convenience. Centre stage on the Strike MultiPad is an Alesis-exclusive 4.3" color screen to make checking system status or performing edits a snap. This kind of total percussive firepower is simply not available anywhere else, even in multiple units.

Sample. Edit. Loop. Perform.

SAMPLE anything you want—any sound, any effect, from anywhere. Use your mic, your phone, your computer, USB input or another audio device to capture live or pre-recorded samples, even off the internet. Alesis even included 6GB+ of premium in-demand content to get you going.

EDIT your samples and loops with the radiant 4.3" color screen, easy-to-use selectors & encoders, A-Link controls and the five built-in effects processors—tweak, shade, color, EQ and compress to your heart’s content. Your sounds will really be your sounds and no one else’s.

LOOP-based recording of your pad performance is a snap, either from the samples you created, or from an external input. Either way, with Strike MultiPad looping can be seamlessly integrated into your playing.

PERFORM better, faster, with more creativity and with more content, versatility and capability than any other drum pad anywhere. With nine velocity-sensitive pads, outfitted with customizable RGB lighting that display velocity, loop length and more, you can be certain you never miss a beat—no matter how dark or foggy the stage is.

The Centerpiece of Your Performance

The Strike MultiPad effortlessly integrates into your existing setup thanks to its arsenal of inputs and outputs—no matter what your next performance demands. Route your metronome or any sound independently to four TRS 1/4" audio outputs, one 1/4" TRS Headphone output or one 1/8" TRS Headphone output. Control and connect your peripheral MIDI-compatible equipment with the 5-pin MIDI in and out ports. Connect source audio to two 1/4" TRS Audio inputs for limitless sampling potential. Expand your performance with additional trigger inputs—(1) single zone and two dual zone, plus TRS HH and footswitch inputs. The Alesis Strike MultiPad has your performance covered.

Production Powerhouse

Strike MultiPad seamlessly transitions from a stage essential to a studio-centric Goliath thanks to an onboard 2-in/2-out audio interface and premium software suite for immediate out-of-the-box potential. Ableton Live Lite is a revolutionary, multi-award-winning music production solution that lets you spontaneously compose, record, remix, improvise and edit your musical ideas in a seamless audio/MIDI environment. Ableton Live Lite brings your acoustic, electronic and virtual instruments—as well as your digital audio recordings and MIDI sequences—together in a single interface with unparalleled ease of use. Alternatively, experience the production powerhouse that is ProTools | First—a complete DAW based on the same music creation and audio production tools that award-winning artists, musicians, producers, engineers, and mixers rely on every day.

Not bad, but an app could have been really useful

Disclaimer: I havent had a ton of time to play with the settings. Just got it recently. Summary: I Love the pad. Still has room for improvements. like some personal likes/preferances as listed below. The good: Excellent pad, Good Tones, Nice feel. Looks and feels a lot like the much more expensive roland model. Probably has extra features compares to that one(I dont think roland has the looper). Could be better : - The 3 edge pads are not as sensitive. Maybe it can be tweaked by adjusting sensitivity. But as is, I couldnt do a ride sell using that edge pad. - There are a LOT of loops. I would have preferred some more acoustic tones and some exotic voices. Like a rainstick, a better bell tree and so on. But then again, I can easily download and add it to this. - There was not a Good acoustic drum kit preset ? ofcourse it has the Tones and I was able to setup, but an standard acoustic kit should not have to be a Userkit setup. - Having an app(windows/Android/Apple) to connect and setup would have been nice. Like it has for the regular Strike drums kit. Editing on a 3" menu based screen is much more involved. Yes, the jog dial helps, but having an APP(windows/android/ipad) would make things a LOT more easier, especially if you want to layer sounds and play around with settings.

Has everything needed in a multipad instrument EXCEPT...

I use my multipad to run backing tracks with the clicks routed only headphones or the just click track, play various samples and to provide drum sounds for my acoustic drums using triggers. I set up the songs in setlists. This is powerful and I have had no problems live. BUT as I play around 40 songs a night I can't spend hours trying to setup all these songs using the pads, triggers and pedals. I can't edit external trigger sounds without using the trigger to select the sound. There is no other way to select and edit these sounds. All Alesis needed to do was release a software editor for it. This would easily be 5 stars if they did. The Roland module does have a software editor. I wish I waited for the Roland and spent the extra money. Oh yeah, one other thing... The outputs are NOT balanced. You have to use direct boxes if you need to run long distances to a board.

Live on a 2nd floor apartment, great for space and low noise. The preloaded drums are meh, but you can upload your own.

  • Awesome Drum Module-but you need to know how to ezily fix it

Great drum module. love the instrument. however when it goes bad it is not a problem with the hardware but with the SD card inside. all you have to do is buy a 32 SDHC card. copy all the files from the previous card onto the new one and replace it. This involves some unscrewing, peeling back some tape, gently getting hot glue off some components including the door to the SD card, this should be done with needle nose pliers and a crushing motion not a pulling motion as the little door can break. Replacing the SD card This fixes all the problems. When you get the module you should open it up and make a copy of the SD card so when it goes bad in 3-10 years you can copy those files onto another one and replace it. So the matanance on this great instrument is one 32 SDHC cad every few years. Alesis could ezily fix this problem by upgrading the machine to take a SDXC like most cameras do now a days, and than they could put a Samsung Pro Endurance microSD card in it. that will provide. 16 years — of continuous recording time. when purchasing my first drum pads My primary concern about this machine was weather the drum pads would wear out, but after opening it up it looks like it would be super ez to fix them if the trigger ever came loos so if your not afraid opening it up you could guarantee the machine lasts you a lifetime. I cant post a link but Youtube (Alesis Strike MultiPad Fixed!!!) to see it opened up.

  • Wow! Great drum machine!

I purchased the Strike Multipad on release, and was very happy with my purchase. Took it on a national tour, and loved it. That being said, no editing software, no way to assign my own samples to categories, and no support; Alesis made a great product and left it in the dirt. Shame.

It may. It will very possibly be inconsistent. It’s not a good idea to mix brands of e-drums.

Is there a limit to how long the samples can be? I have several 2 -3 minute backing tracks that we play to. I use my phone to play them and was wondering if I could use the Strike Multi pad instead.

I have seriously ill family members who can't tolerate noise, so I've not touched my guitars in quite a while, but it's killing me not to play music and jam along to tunes. I'm really cranky without playing. Having never played drums before, will I be able to learn some basic stuff and jam along to youtube with this or is this really meant to be used along with a real kit? I WANT a real kit but it's just not possible given current home life which isn't going to change anytime soon. I figured since there's a headphone jack on this, I could at least maybe manage to have some fun. Yay or Neigh?

    Hello,
I am Marco Bellani from Italy and I am looking to buy 1 Alesis Strike Multipad for my daughter's birthday (she's a little passionate drummer!) but actually it is impossibile to find it in Italy, neither in Europe from what I see in internet.

However I was wondering if it's possible to buy it from you in America?
I am afraid about the Shipping Times? How long does it takes to have it delivered here in Italy?

But I am even more worried about possible CUSTOMS taxes to pay once it's here (I have a small budget barely enough to buy the instrument, I would like to avoid bad surprises here)

Please let me know if you can help with my little dream
thanks a lot

Marco

If you go to our website and click the flag on the bottom of the webpage, you will be able to select your country.
