Pad performance is the top priority for any beatmaker. Velocity-sensitive RGB pads mean maximum expression, whether you’re playing soft melodies or booming kick drums with colored visuals to keep track of your velocities and pad groupings. Switch from Note to Chord Mode quickly and build out your tracks right as inspiration strikes. 

Assignable Touch Strip Control and Expression

Create your own signature sounds with the assignable touch strip. This fluid controller bends and shapes your sounds however you want. Make that pad synth pulse faster, control the roll of your hi-hats to fill your trap drumbeat or make that guitar part more realistic by articulating the strum right where you need it. Assign any of the numerous knobs, sliders and parameters to the touch strip for new and inventive manipulation of any track.

    I purchased this product in January 2023'. It is a MIDI controller (obvious), I purchased it not realizing it came with a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation); not a desk lol. The DAW included is "MPC 2" just for computers though (MacOS/Win). The standalone models have their own OS.

    Nothing but good things to say. This product is great for getting into the world of the mpc and budget friendly when compared to other mpc products. The learning curve was pretty steep for me but the workflow is great once you get used to it. Will definitely purchase more mpc products

    Bought the studio to implement to my other controllers. Will not work on my MacBook running OS Catalina. And no, I cannot update due to hard drive and ram upgrades. Getting support from anyone other than google is a pointless endeavor and that still does not solve the problem. And of course, I cannot return it because the software has already been downloaded.

    Do I need a PC to use this? And does this record without PC?

    The Akai Professional MPC Studio is a music production controller, not a standalone device. It does not work without a computer. It requires a PC or Mac to function. It does not have built-in sounds or recording capabilities on its own. It must be connected to your computer and used with the included MPC 2 software, which is where all the audio processing, sequencing, and recording happens.
