I purchased this pedal with the intent of using it for recording at a studio. Upon testing it there was a bunch of hum added to my signal. Despite troubleshooting my cables and testing all the outputs, the humming persisted making it completely unusable. Also, the instrument input is unrefined and is very rough when inserting a cable. The DI output socket is too deep and my XLR cable wouldn't go in all the way and didn't click into place, making a very loose connection. Do not waste your time risking this pedal with most reviews being negative, it's not worth it. Put your money into a better product. I have ordered an Electro Harmonix Battalion instead and I will be returning the Acoustic BPDI asap.

My board set up is (Acoustic BPDI, tuner, compressor, fuzz, chorus, wah, then back to the BPDI). this is using the effects loop. The xlr out is very clean, and the overdrive sounds pretty good too. I haven't experienced any of the issues mentioned in other reviews, for the price i highly recommend this pedal.

I use this going into an Apollo interface and it sounds great on it's own. Not so much when running it into an amp sim, but excellent when put before my Fender bass amp.

The build quality is nice. Unfortunately, the XLR output does not use a transformer and the only sound you'll hear through the house system is silence if they have phantom power turned on (which is basically anyone with microphones).

  • Extremely loud hiss produced by this unit.

The unit I received must be defective. It produced a loud hiss that could not be remedied. I returned it. Replaced it with a MXR M81 that is dead silent and works great.
