On-Stage

collapse expand iconDescription

Light and compact, the SSAS7000B is an excellent choice for light-duty work in bars, clubs, hotels, churches and other venues where small portable PA’s are routinely used. An ergonomic knob adjusts stand height from 27” to 46”, while the folding tripod base maintains a low center of gravity, allowing exceptional stability when used with speakers up to 60 lbs. in weight. The 1-3/8” upper shaft is compatible with virtually all current pole-mount speakers.

Just what I wanted.

I've been doing all my gigs as a keyboardist for the last two years in my 1990 Mazda Miata. I recently bought a pair of QSC CP-8s to replace the K-10s. I need stands for a gig this weekend, so these fit the bill. My car is already chock full of stuff, so I couldn't get large heavy duty stands. The speakers don't weigh much - 21 lbs each. They didn't fall over when I tested them in the garage or at my rehearsal tonight, but so far nobody bumped them. However, I would not recommend using speakers that weight any more than these, especially if you have them full extended. The screws that hold the extension arm in place look like they'd strip easily - it's just a result of the design and materials, which for the price, I can accept. I decided to leave them in the boxes they came in, as I can tell they will get dinged up quite quickly getting tossed around at gigs and in my car and then in the garage. I'm really happy I got them, and Scott at Pasadena GC gets mentioned for honoring a really great online offer when I came in to buy them. They had to be ordered, but they arrived at my house in a week or less. They are very useful for small gigs for keys where your one monitor feeds the audience as well. These can adjust the height to make it work for performer and audience. I may purchase a heftier set for my K-10s when I need to use them, but for the CP8s and a tiny vehicle, these are perfect.

I don't recommend it.

The bolt that secures the extending arm is fragile. The speaker I used was within the weight limit but the extended arm still slid down even when the bolt is securely tightened. The support of the foot is not resilient enough due to the fact that the stand has a risk of twisting. It would have been the perfect product for my event needs if the locking mechanisms, and foot were of better build.

great for holding a monitor off the ground. I'm a drummer and floor space is limited. The stand also is closer to ear lever.

This was exactly what I wanted to hold my small Blackstar amp. I wanted a stand with a small foot print and this is perfect!

I like the fact ht small and easy to transport but I wish it would be a bit higher when extended. It's rated to hold up to 60 LBS, but I wouldn't recommend anything more than 25 LBS on it. I tried it with a 39 pound JBL eon pro speaker, and even though U tightened the clamp as much as I could, the pole slid down to the bottom. If there were a locking pin and holes in the pole for various height adnustments, this wouldn't happen and it might hold up to 60 pounds. But the plastic clamps and bolts that keep it extended are a bit flimsy and if over tightened to many times, they could strip. It will hold my 16 pound Bose S1 pro speaker, but as I said, the sharp edge of the top of the pole scratched the pole cup on the speaker. I didn't take any points off for that because I think that's probably a flaw not present in all of them

These stands are great for short-throw situations. They are very sturdy! The build quality is really good. I would give them 5 stars, but they are fairly expensive for a pair (IMHO).

No. The stand would be too top heavy. Give us a call at 866-498-7882 and we can help you find a stand that will work with the speakers.

You can hardly feel it, but the top edge of the pole on mine is a bit sharp on half the diameter. It scratched the pole cup on my Bose S1 pro speaker. Have any of you ever seen this happen? What can I do to prevent it. I tried tape, but that just made the pole cup sticky making it hard to lift off the speaker. Thanks. Joe.
