Heavy duty is an understatement

I have bought several boom microphone stands and they either did not seem very sturdy on the boom mechanism loosens over time. This one is truly stage worthy and you will be amazed how heavy duty it is. It will be heavier that you could believe.
Worth the extra

I'm not a musician, but a sound engineer and stage manager for a band. I love these HD mic stands, because they are Heavy Duty. The last thing I want to worry about is a mic stand falling over during a performance, and with these I don't have to. Even with large 10" tablets attached, these stands are rock solid!

This could have need a good heavy duty stand but unfortunately the thread holding the boom is made of very soft metal resulting in boom not holding on stand. Shame
A serious stand

I was tired of my all purpose light weight boom stand. It was easy to tip, thread were washing out; I just really didn't get a nice secure vibe when trying to set up a moderately expensive mic on it. I ordered this due to reviews and I am not disappointed. It may be a bit heavy for performance use but it is rock solid if you want to keep your Sennheiser 945 or RODE NT-1A from kissing the floor.
Cheap trash with a higher price tag

First the main pivot point of the stand wasn't strong enough to hold up my mic, so I added extra rubber in the joint and that helped. But then the screws which adjust the length of the boom just broke. The inside threads are stripped, so it's not functional. I keep this mic stand in my home studio. It doesn't get heavy use at all. This is the worst mic stand I have every purchased, and I've gone cheaper. Guitar center won't do anything to help me out. DO NOT buy this stand.
Seems to be a very solid music stand

I ordered 3 of these and got $20 off from GC. Received them today and set them all up to make sure everything was received and functional. I'm impressed with these so far, adjustments are easy and the hardware is sturdy, actually better than I expected at the price I paid. I can't speak for longevity, but I don't expect to have any problems, either. 3 good quality mic stands for about $100? The same model was higher priced elsewhere, also.
