It can produce deafening highs and explosive rimshots, while being invitingly warm with note sustain. Being an extremely versatile drum, the maple Bandits can deliver a warm smooth tone that moves out of the way nicely or they can cut through the air like a sudden snap of thunder in a storm.

Great Snare! Packs a punch!

I have over 50 snare drums and definitely didn't need another stave, But I purchased this one (14 x 7) on an open box deal that was too good to ignore. I did have a little trouble dialing it in, as this snare employees tube lugs and they needed a little lubrication in order for the rods to tension smoothly. But once I figured that out, I slapped a remo controlled sound X batter and WOW! This thing has a ton of cut and body. It's not the smoothest shell I've seen by far. It's pretty raw on the inside and could definitely have used more sanding and perhaps a clear coat like my Gretsch Stave. But this one definitely gives my Gretsch a run for its money. I still have the stock wires on it and it sounds great. The black nickel hardware is a great touch. But overall on the hardware side of things, I'm not super thrilled with the light duty throw off and butt plate. I feel like this Drum deserves some heavier duty hardware. I like 2.3 mm hoops, but I feel like a drum like this deserves 3 mm or maybe even some diecasts. But overall it's a great drum that sounds pretty darn good out of the box with few modifications.
