NuGen Audio SEQ-ST Equalizer Plug-in

Description
Match EQ To Other Recordings
Beyond traditional EQ, you can also use SEQ-ST to capture the flavor of a piece of source audio and then transfer it to your current work – great for restoration and harmonization work. Or use the same technique on individual tracks to unify different takes, microphone positions, and more.
Independent L/R and M/S Support
With 3 independent curves, individually assignable to Left, Right, Mid and Side, SEQ-ST gives you complete control over your stereo environment.
Create 'Perfect' Space
The EQ Invert control gives you a minimally-invasive technique for creating space in a complex mix where traditional EQs are just too cumbersome. By ‘sampling’ the vocal and applying the inverted the curve to the backing, specific space can be gently created without unnecessarily altering the original tonality of the underlying audio.
High Definition, Low-Frequency Control
Unlike many linear phase EQs, SEQ-ST has a unique Quality Setting that gives it great precision in the low frequencies, allowing you to make highly transparent adjustments without muddying the mix. The resolution is scalable to suit your task. Choose all the precision you need for demanding work during mastering, or vary the setting to run multiple instances concurrently during a mixing session.

After demoing the SEQ-ST for a couple weeks I just had to buy it. Having moved from Logic to Cubase Pro 9, I no longer had Logic's perfectly workable Match EQ. My search for an even better one ended here with the SEQ-ST. While FabFilter Pro-Q2 does MatchEQ, it captures pink noise incorrectly, going from low to high when in fact a pink noise curve should in fact be a little higher in the low range and gradually going lower across the frequency spectrum. Not only does the SEQ-ST capture the same pink noise source correctly, but it is much easier to smooth the curve and also adjust the intensity of the effect. And it sounds great! For other applications of EQ, it is best to view the SEQ-ST as a graphic EQ with many distinct bands. There is no Q adjustment, only the raising and lowering of bands, although one can draw an arc with the mouse and the individual bands will adjust to it nicely. Viewing it otherwise will be highly frustrating to get used to. Indeed, I only use the SEQ-ST for match EQ and it is the best thing on the market for this particular application, and also for inverting that Match from one track to another to create space - one of the suggested uses by the creator. So, top marks for my intended use. Best in the market for Match EQ. For other EQ uses one might find other EQs are much more manageable and easy to adjust. So be aware of what you want to use this for as it is not the swiss army knife of EQs, it simply shines like a supernova at some specific use cases.
