Novation

Description

Step into the next generation of controller keyboards with Launchkey 61 MK4, Novation’s most expressive and advanced 61-key MIDI keyboard yet. Designed for producers and performers who need a spacious keybed and deeper hands-on control, this evolution of the MK3 line enhances every part of the creative process. Launchkey 61 MK4 delivers tighter DAW integration, refined features and a redesigned layout — all with seamless compatibility across Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio, Cubase, Reason and more. It includes MIDI over USB-C, a full-size 5-pin MIDI out and bus-powered operation for studio or stage. With semi-weighted keys, polyphonic aftertouch pads and a deeper connection between software and hardware, it’s built to take your music further.

Extended Playability With Expressive Control

At the heart of the Launchkey 61 MK4 lies a 61-note, semi-weighted keybed tuned for responsive, expressive play. It feels fast and fluid for synth leads and pads, while still supporting nuanced performances on electric piano and orchestral instruments. The 16 velocity-sensitive RGB pads feature polyphonic aftertouch and radial sensitivity, ideal for expressive finger drumming and clip launching. Nine faders, eight encoders and pitch/mod wheels provide tactile control of every element in your session, while the crisp OLED screen keeps your parameters visible and accessible during intense production or live sets.

Inspire Instantly With Scales, Chords and Arps

Launchkey’s creative engine goes well beyond triggering notes. Scale Mode offers 30 musical scales with multiple sub-modes to keep your melodies locked in, while Chord Modes—including Chord Maps, User Chords and Fixed Chords—let you generate rich harmonic progressions with ease. The built-in arpeggiator supports per-step editing and rhythm shaping, giving you the tools to build complex patterns and ambient textures. Whether composing in the studio or jamming live, these intuitive features empower both seasoned producers and newcomers to generate ideas faster.

Integrated Control for Every Studio Setup

Control your DAW like an instrument with deep integration across today’s leading music platforms. The Launchkey 61 MK4 offers custom transport modes, instant mapping of key DAW functions and plug-and-play support for Ableton Live, Logic Pro, FL Studio and more. With the addition of Split and Layer modes, users can assign different sounds or MIDI channels to different key zones, unlocking multi-instrumental performance setups. Plus, four onboard Custom Modes—configurable via Novation’s Components software—let you create personalized control templates for software plugins, hardware synths or even lighting rigs.

Your Creative Toolkit Starts Here

The Launchkey 61 MK4 is part of Novation’s larger creative ecosystem, giving you everything needed to start making music from day one. It ships with Ableton Live 12 Lite, Cubase LE 14, the GForce 4-in-1 synth bundle (including Bass Station, OB-EZ, SEM and AXXESS), plus a rich selection of sounds from Orchestral Tools and Klevgrand. You’ll also gain access to Novation Play, a standalone or plugin instrument packed with 80+ sounds from Novation, Oberheim and Sequential classics. And with Melodics lessons included, you can sharpen your pad and key skills while you produce.

Built to Perform, Designed to Evolve

Whether you’re producing in a compact studio or performing on stage, Launchkey 61 MK4 is built to meet the moment. Its rugged chassis, compact profile and USB-C bus power make it ideal for mobile rigs or tightly packed stages. Compatible across Mac, PC and iOS, it’s ready to pair with your DAW, hardware synths, or music apps straight out of the box. From its expressive controls to its extensive software bundle, Launchkey 61 MK4 empowers artists to create with confidence—wherever inspiration strikes.

I replaced my iRig Keys i/o 49 with the Launchkey 61 MK4 and it is a substantial upgrade. iRig is handy if you need an audio interface, but the keys and pads don't consistently trigger. The Launchkey pads are super sensitive in comparison but by far more functional in every way. This is a well thought out and so far, solid device functioning well with Logic Pro and Studio One Pro 7.

I have a couple of Launchkey Mark 3 keyboard controllers (with 37 and 49 keys), and I like them. Novation has made a game-changer with the Mark 4. This is a heavier-built controller that has a feel more like an instrument. The semi-weighted keys make the biggest difference. I opted for 61 keys to add an extra octave. It's well-designed with no wasted space and just wide enough for the keys without adding controls to the sides. As usual, it is so integrated with Ableton Live, my DAW of choice, that it's easy to use.
