Native Instruments' "Guitar Rig 2" is nothing short of a software that allows you to create literally ANY guitar sound imaginable that can come out of a guitar amplifier. The 8 amps that you can put in the virtual rack are incredibly acurate. Guitar Rig has so much more power than any analog setup. First of all, the whole software itself is cheaper than just one of the 8 amplifiers that Guitar Rig 2 offers. Secondly, you have literally any combination of effects you could have on an actual analog rack. There is a countless number of reverbs, eq's, chorus, etc. After using "Guitar Rig 2" I realize that nobody has an excuse to use an amp. The tones in Guitar Rig are just as good, can be tweaked and effected more acurately, and everything is in one simple software. Why have 15 different amps or stomp boxes when it's all there? And it is unimaginably cheaper than an analog rig. Oh yea, everything that Guitar Rig offers can be controlled with your feet. No more, tangled chords trying to switch between amps because you can control ANYTHING, yes ANYTHING you want right from the Foot Kontrol. Its simple, all you need is your guitar, and a computer with Guitar Rig and you can create any sound imaginable for your guitar. The foot Kontrol is great for the studio or on stage. I rate the overall program of 4.5 out of 5 because of one minor thing. The virtual rack and programming your Kontrol take some getting used to. You need to learn what amps do what and same with effects before you can truly creat any tone you want. But why not? It's cheaper, so acurate and just better than anything else. Don't even use your fingers anymore on your computer, you're feet are just as capable now!

I'm a one man band. I love to record my bass and my guitar and see what happens. before I got this I found a very plain and boring sounds that were set with my Sonar software. This little ditty really helped. Think about it, you could spend thousands, and thousands of dollars on all these amps, boxes, mics and effects. Here you have them all in one "rack". You can apply these on each track too. So now my bass sounds the way I want it to, and my guitar sounds just as good as what I hear on the radio. The take aways for this... Cheaper than what it would cost you for everything, a foot pedal that gives you control, and just that fact that you can add what you want to make YOUR sound.
