Needs better DAW integration

You can't knock the extensive range of kits and samples available and the very robust browser for controling every aspect of the behavior of the samples. In this regard Battery shines. Where it does fall short for me is the limited way it falls short in true integration with 3rd party DAWs (I can speak to experience with Sonar and Live). Building custom MIDI maps to map the sounds coming out of Battery to where you want to be able to control them in the DAW involves a lot of frustrating grunt work that could easily be automated by NI -- instead they rely on their user community to fill this gap when it really is their responsibility to provide this integration piece -- hence, only 4 stars for an otherwise excellent product.

this software is amazing when used inside Cakewalk's Project 5 v2.5. my drum tracks have never sounded more alive (with the exception of having an actual live drummer) and i've used a lot of software in my day, but Battery 3 gives it to me. tons of samples, and many ways, and fairly intuitive ones at that, to alter the samples from within the software. it would be nice if the sample browser actually played the cl3 files, because that would make things stellarly easy.
