    A victim of misdirected reviews

    Unfortunately, reviews for very similar items often end up on the wrong item—-as has obviously happened with this mic stand. Musicians Friend has a very similar stand of lesser quality that sells for $3 dollars less, and some of its' reviews are on this item's reviews. This stand has a metal cam clamp, not a plastic one. The base for this stand is more robust. I have a home studio and this stand is a good deal for me—-especially since I got a 2 pack on "Stupid Deal". I have no doubts about longevity for my uses. If I were in a touring band, maybe not—-but otherwise they will do just fine.

    Ok if treated with kid gloves.

    I've only had these stands for a few days. Used twice. So far, so good. However, I've not had great luck with these stands. They don't take a lot of use well. Only purchased these two because they bundled them in a "Stupid deal of the day" offering. Hoping these will last a while.

      I really regret buying this. I didn't want to spend a lot on a microphone stand but the quality on this is so poor that I've used it lightly a couple times at home and it's already falling apart. Does not seem like it will last a long time even if I'm gentle with it.

      This stand does everything you need a boom mic stand to do. Some components are inexpensive on it but once you adjust it the stand stays. Great for home use, not sure how well it would hold up after 100 take downs and putting back up on the road but it will work for home use no problems.
