Great!..For a While
I purchased this stand about a year ago looking for something cheap, considering i was just needing a stand asap after the purchase of a new condenser mic. It held up nice for about 6 months, but now the boom piece of the stand just comes off...? I don't know why or how but apparently it can't withstand the weight of the microphone. The fasteners the hold the mic at the height and dimensions you want it, just aren't up to par in general. This product is good if you need something in the meantime for saving up for a nicer stand. Believe it or not i would recommend this in that case.(only in that case)

Good for light use
I bought this pair of fixed boom mic stands for use in our little AV studio, part of my high school journalism program. The price was right, and got them at the urging of students since we needed booms for newly acquired shotgun condenser mics. Good points: 1) Light weight, 2) easy to move around and adjust, 3) easily adjustable height, 4) boom arm adjusts by sliding, 5) plastic clips hold mic cable in place, Not-so-good points: 1) Not very stable. Be sure to put a leg underneath the boom arm when using a mic or the tripod will topple over, 2) silver-colored adjustment nut on boom arms need lots of tightening to keep mic in place. I'm afraid they will wear out quickly despite the light use we give them, 3) be sure to purchase appropriate mic clips when you buy these booms since mic clips are not included. I'm going to buy a pair of sandbags from amazon to help stabilize them.

Ok, Just face it, after about 6 months the weight of the microphone will cause it to slip no mater how tight you make it. Solution #1 is to purchase better mic stands, But being the cheepo's that we are... Solution #2 is to slip corse sand paper in between the grips and the problem is solved for low dough.

Pretty much got what I paid for.... fairly low quality. But these were bought as backups, so no real loss here. I would not use them on a day to day basis.

I had a problem of being able to tighten the boom in place due to the screw being cross-threaded from the factory. I was able to fix the problem myself, but it is a problem that should have been handled by some sort of Quality control at the manufacturing facility.
works as it should
