    I use this as a kick drum mic, and it works great. The height is plenty adjustable to reach the front head port, and it's sturdy enough for the job. My old kick mic stand had a 5 lbs cast iron base - ridiculous when carrying your own gear. This stand weighs nothing and can fit in your pocket.
