Great deal

Wow, I was impressed by this deal. If you get this pair on sale it can't be beat. I'd bought one just like these two a few months ago and paid more for the one than I paid for this 2-pack. Sturdy, foam rubber cushioned rest points, and easy to fold up and transport.

The picture on the website for these stands is misleading

These stands are OK for the money, but the picture on the website for these stands did NOT represent what I received when I purchased them online. The GC advertised picture show the cradle attachment as connected/inserted in to a front-mounted connector piece. What I received did not have this feature, but instead a couple of holes in the stand to insert the cradle pin into. A front-mounted connector serves 1, to provide a better angle of stability and clearance, 2. Allows the sliding portion of the stand to adjust all the way to the ground for smaller stringed instruments, and 3. It's simply easier to insert the cradle pin into the front-mounted connector rather than syncing the cradle pin through two holes in the stand. Yes, they smelled bad, kind of toxic. But they didn't break for the brief time I had my guitars in them and I did not notice any damage to the guitar finishes. Needless to say, I returned these and purchased some Ultra 2445 black stands from somewhere else, as these have been reliable for many years. Had the picture on the Guitar Center website accurately represented the product, I never would have purchased these in the first place.

I had to find out for myself, and the people who say the rear leg is too short (like the length of your thumb) are telling the truth. These can easily be rocked from side to side even on a perfectly flat hardwood floor. On a carpet of any thickness, forget it, you would be playing with fire. They're also low enough to the ground you probably couldn't leave your guitar plugged in (I didn't keep them long enough to check). I returned them and got the Proline HT1010 stands which cost 2x as much but are still relatively inexpensive and 10x better.

  • Excellent stands for the buck

I don't know if it's luck of the draw but, the weld that attaches the U shaped neck holder on the 2 I got today are much better than the ones I've gotten before. I've never had one break and doubt I will, they just don't have to hold that much but, these last two are solid. If you really want to protect your guitar, keep it in a hard case. I like having my guitars out where they invite me to play them.
