Disclaimer: Haven't played much 12 string and a cheap pickup for my acoustics is all I've played electric. First impression out of the box: A lil darker than the pictures but very aesthetically pleasing to me. I like burst patterns and darker wood. Not a high gloss finish. You can actually see the grain texture....not just the grain itself. It is different and it wouldn't work with a high gloss finish but this is personal preference I guess. Feel: Like every other dreadnaught with a chunky neck. 12 strings create a lot a tension and it needs a thicker neck maybe? I happen to like a thicker neck if I'm mostly playing chords. Acoustic: It sounds very balanced which mahogany is known for. If you're doing a lot of vocals over the top may want something with less mid range. Instrumentally tho I love it. Plenty of volume. Sounds great to me. Electric: again sounds great with my limited benchmark. Better than my acoustic with my fishman clamp over the hole single coil (which I also have no complaints about). Controls are easy to use and sounds good throughout the full range of the EQ knobs. Other: Intonation on the 12 fret is either dead on or off by the smallest amount possible as measured with a tuner. Very comparable to guitars with a cost twice this much or more. Action is redonkulous low. So low dust might not collect under it. I LOVE the sound of the bass on this. Acoustic or electric. I picked up on sale as I've wanted a 12 string and it won't be my go to but more of a novelty. Even if I paid the regular price I would feel it is worth that and I would get my money's worth in due time.

The instrument was good for like 2-3 months, but then I began to have problems with fret buzz, etc. Today on March 22nd, I got it checked out and turns out the bridge is faulty and the neck is already warping. Keep in mind this is all factory and I've never done any changes. Also, within the first month I had to strings pop. I always clean my instrument after playing and put it in the case when I know I won't play it for a while showing that I do care for my instrument. Mitchell guitars are good don't get me wrong, but with all these problems I might as well get a upgrade because all these repairs will be around $200 which is not worth it at all.

This is a beautiful looking guitar, but for a 12 string the sound does not blow me away. It's a good guitar for the prize but not my favorite.

Everything is good about it, the sound, the strings, everything. But the pluggin for the guitar isn't working I tried everything, Replace the battery, make sure the battery was working, and make sure was either flipped. But nothing worked. I would like to replace on if it's possible.

Tried out several 12 string guitars in store under 400.00 and they all seemed to lack tone somehow. Took a gamble buying this Mitchell T331 online as a result of the reviews and WOW am I glad I chose this guitar! Very well balanced sounding guitar. Warm but doesn't lack mids and the highs truly sparkle. The overtones sound extremely symphonic and the sustain is LONG due to the Tusq nut and saddle. The action from the factory is superb. No setup needed other than tuning. The finish on the guitar looks and feels very natural. The tuners are holding a tune well. Intonation is fantastic. The neck is straight and slim making it easy to finger cords and even wrap my thumb around if I need to mute the Low E. I plugged the guitar into my effect processor and studio monitors and ultimately expected that piezo metallic tone and surprisingly it sounded almost like i was playing in front of a Mic. I honestly don't have one single complaint about this guitar. Even the price is attractive on sale for 299.99 right now! Go get you one if you're reading this review. You won't be disappointed! Mitchell knocked this one out of the box, great job!

The strings are just octaves. Each pair is the same note one octave apart.
