Overall I'm happy with my purchase

Overall playability is good. As a beginner im looking for something simple and easy. And i guess mu40c meets those. Only thing is you have to re-tune every time you play but im hoping replacing it with high end strings would fix that.

Bad copy of

Bought this model for my 10 year old. Right off the bat, took almost an hour to get "fairly" tuned. I'd get G, C, and E tuned perfectly then struggled to get A tuned and by the time A was tuned, all others went out of tune. Would then have to tweak those again and then A would be off. Did this routine for an hour. I'm not a musical instrument expert, but can only assume something was wrong with the tie bridge and the tension on each string causing the others to be effected. Once I'd got it relatively tuned, wouldn't hold tune through a 10 minute strumming session. Will be returning and exchanging this tomorrow for a higher end model. To note, I also bought my 15 year old The Mitchell MU75BK at the same time. That model tuned easily and stayed tuned fairly decent. I realize most Ukes at this price range will need to be tuned often, but the Mitchell MU40C was a joke, at least this copy of it.

The first one was a birthday gift for my 8 year old grandson and he was smitten. His cousin, my 10 year old grandson, waited his turn and then started trying to play songs. I went back to Guitar Center and got a second one to be a Christmas present for the 10 year old.

  • Feels nice, looks sweet, plays like butter

Unsure if I am tuning the g string correctly. The C, E, and A are tighter and sound better. The g is showing tuned on my tuner, but seems to be very loose. I am afraid to over tighten the g string.

Hello is there a way to fix a scratch or small dent in the lindenwood?

Depending on the scratch, lighter scratches could be filled with crack sealer from a hardware store (this may result in changing the color of the affected area if not careful) deeper ones would have to be refinished entirely.
