Inexpensive, easy to play sounds great!
With today?s guitar market so widespread in variety and price range I could not find my guitar for weeks, I couldn?t make up my mind. Do I want an expensive guitar or something in the middle of the road? I was going to get an expensive guitar until I grasped my fingers on the fretboard of a Mitchell MD100 and seconds later I said ?ill take it?. The sound is solid and the guitar is light in weight which I like and it looks really nice for the price. I enjoy playing the Mitchell guitar every day, it sounds like a really expensive guitar, but it is only a fraction of the price! My neighbor liked it so much and the price he went out and bought one too. What do you have to lose its inexpensive easy to play sounds great and is only a fraction of the cost compared to other guitars. The Mitchell is really good for beginner players and I recommend it for every one!

Terrible Fret Buzz
Tried out a half dozen of these guitars and the result was the same on all of them nothing but horrible fret buzz. It is a shame as these guitars look and feel very nice. I was hoping to get something to bang around on with a half decent sound so I wouldn't have to take my Martin D-16GT outside too much but these guitars need some serious fret work on them. The action was fine so it wasn't that. I found a cheap Rogue RD80 that sounds much better, better action, and no buzz at all. Sure, it's laminate and practically bullet-proof but it did out-do the Mitchell MD-100 by a mile and for less $$... This thing can probably double as a flotation device or a weapon if needed. :-)

This guitar is cheap as in inexpensive, but pretty good. It doesn't have all the high-end woods, but it plays really well. It sounds pretty nice actually. The action is perfect, it looks great, even the sound is warmer than my other dreadnought guitar. It's actually built pretty well too. I don't have the specs but I think it's a laminate construction top. But overall it's a really good guitar for beginner or intermediate level I think.
Not a female friendly guitar

I've had my Mitchel md100 for years. It was my first guitar, and for that reason I will always love it. However it's not perfect. It's a decent guitar for the price, but I don't recommend this guitar for girls or for those with small hands. It's pretty high action and so you have to really play with a lot of force. There's also a lot of fret buzz but that can be avoided by perfect finger placement and almost excessive force. My guy friends with big hands don't have the same trouble with it that I do, but even they agree it's high action. Overall, it's durable, the sound is really nice if you can overcome the fret buzz, but it's not the most enjoyable guitar to play. In the end you get what you pay for.

After hitting some hard times and selling my guitar collection, I decided to pick up a cheap guitar just to have something to play again. I had done a little browsing online and had decided on a Rogue in the same price range. When I entered the acoustic room at GC, I found the Rogue on one of the higher hooks near the ceiling. I started eyeballing the acoustics readily available on the floor. The Mitchell MD100 caught my eye. It was in my price range and it looked great (especially for the price tag). I was amazed by the sound and the playability. It was the only one in stock, so I purchased the floor model. Not sure if someone had spent some time setting it up or just got lucky. I've had this guitar for almost two years and just put a fresh new set of mediums on it after having lights on it since I got it. The mediums gauge strings make this guitar sound incredible. Staying in tune has never been an issue with this guitar. This was a really nice surprise.

Awesome guitar for the money. I use Martin strings on mine. Neck feels great . Mine sits in our basement at 50 degrees and it very rarely needs tuning and if so very minor . I have no issues with the wood checking . Love this guitar . Cant find another that I'm as comfortable with .

Thank you very much to the Guitar Center for the $500 grant. We were able to get our school 6 guitars to start an instrumental program and our first guitar ensemble! We really appreciate the support that you have given to our school and our program.
