Description
The Mitchell Launch O100JR Auditorium Junior acoustic guitar proves that a smaller size doesn’t mean smaller potential. Designed for younger players, first-time learners and experienced musicians who want a compact companion, this junior auditorium model combines classic acoustic construction with modern playability. Its all-basswood body projects a warm, balanced sound, while forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing boosts resonance and depth—features rarely seen at this price. A Comfort-Fit okoume neck, high-ratio tuners and a purpleheart bridge add thoughtful touches that help players sound their best. Whether it’s your very first guitar or a portable addition to your collection, the O100JR delivers a rewarding playing experience for guitarists of all levels.
Junior Auditorium Shape With Basswood Warmth
The O100JR’s junior-sized auditorium body strikes the ideal balance between player-focused comfort and rich, responsive tone. Scaled down for younger musicians or players who prefer a lighter, more manageable instrument, it still produces the clear, full sound that makes auditorium guitars so versatile. The all-basswood construction brings out warm mids and balanced highs, giving each strum or picked note a pleasing resonance. Lightweight and easy to hold for extended sessions, the body design makes learning more enjoyable while ensuring the guitar is ready for travel, practice or performance. With the O100JR, players don’t have to sacrifice comfort for tone.
Forward-Shifted X-Bracing for Bigger Projection
Most entry-level acoustics keep the bracing simple, but the O100JR goes further with forward-shifted scalloped X-bracing—an internal design feature usually reserved for full-sized or higher-end guitars. This bracing allows the top to vibrate more freely, producing a sound that’s rich and lively despite the guitar’s smaller footprint. The result is a surprising amount of volume and tonal depth, giving players the confidence that their music will carry whether practicing at home or jamming with friends. For a junior model, the O100JR delivers projection and resonance well beyond expectations.
Comfort-Fit Okoume Neck and Smooth HPL Fingerboard
An enjoyable playing experience starts with a neck that feels natural in the hands. Mitchell designed the O100JR with a Comfort-Fit C-shaped okoume neck, offering smooth playability across all positions. Its short 22.4" scale reduces string tension, making fretting easier for smaller hands or beginners still building strength. Paired with a durable HPL fingerboard and offset pearloid dot inlays, the neck provides both a comfortable touch and a visually distinctive style. Whether learning your first chords or exploring melodies higher up the fretboard, the O100JR keeps the focus on effortless play.
Reliable Mitchell Hardware for Everyday Playing
The O100JR’s thoughtful hardware details help new players focus on music rather than maintenance. Open-gear chrome tuners with an 18:1 ratio provide precise, responsive tuning, while the purpleheart bridge and compensated synthetic bone saddle enhance both sustain and intonation. Combined with its smooth satin finish, these features ensure the guitar feels easy to play and delivers consistent performance day after day, making practice more enjoyable and inspiring confidence as skills grow.
A Compact Acoustic That Inspires at Every Stage
Compact, comfortable and built to sing with an inspiring voice, the Mitchell Launch O100JR Auditorium Junior acoustic guitar is an accessible instrument that encourages growth and creativity. Its blend of approachable size, warm sound and player-friendly features makes it equally at home as a first step into music, a travel-ready companion or a couch-friendly strummer for seasoned players. With the O100JR, Mitchell delivers a guitar that’s easy to pick up yet hard to put down—an instrument ready to support you along every step of your musical journey.

A LOT of guitar for not a lot of $$

This is primarily an around the house guitar, just got it for fun and couch playing. Its wild how good and loud it sounds and how well it plays... I thought it was on sale but the regular price is kind of nuts for this instrument. And the size is great for travel or camping too. I could see it recording nicely in a pinch as well because like many smaller Auditorium or OM models it responds nicely to playing dynamics and has a balanced sound thats not too boomy like some dreadnaughts can be. Super solid players guitar and a great 'grab n go' guitar.
Well made guitar!

This guitar plays very easily and sound rich. It has a cool looking headstock. Not only is it a great guitar to record with but also works well for beginners thanks to its size.

As you can see from the picture, it's right in the middle, size-wise. Big enough for good volume and tone, small enough for comfort and easy to play anywhere. (Sorry I have my clip-on tuner over the logo on the headstock in the picture.)
