I was was very surprised and pleased when the neck arrived, as it was listed for about $40 less than the normal price as it was listed as a blemished item. When it arrived the only blemishes that I found were black marks like something black rubbed against the head stock. I took #0000 steel wool and smoothed the headstock and removed the black marks. The neck is as straight as an arrow, and I could not be more pleased with this purchase. It is already mounted to a Seafoam Green w/white pearl PG Precision Bass body.

Downside, if you can call it that: (1st) the headstock is thinner than a standard Fender headstock, but it held up fine so far, & (2nd) the frets were playable as is but not perfectly level, so to maximize the action I filed down the higher frets (easy to do--you can find instructions online). The fretboard still came in way better shape than another "reputable" neck I purchased at three times the price. Upside: the rosewood fretboard looks great, feels great, and it makes my Jazz Bass a pleasure to play (it now beats my Rick, which is saying a lot). I play often, so for me comfort is everything. If I buy another Fender neck, I am going with Mighty Mite.

The mighty mite neck was just a smidgen smaller where it fit into the body of my American Standard Jazz Bass. I thought it would be pre-drilled to fit the body, however it was not much of a problem. I just made a template of the original neck and transferred it onto the mighty mite neck and it came out perfect. Also had to drill for the tuners in the Headstock. I noticed the wood thickness was not as thick at the head stocks as the Fender neck. Also the edges of the frets were not dressed as well because you could feel a little sharpness running your hand up and down. Overall I would say the mighty mite neck was a good value for the money and works well for my intended purpose which is only playing bass on occasion.
