I received the replacement neck for my P-bass. I took some time to file the edges of the fret wires and set up the neck once it was mounted to the guitar. It plays like a dream! very smooth. I chose to finish it with an amber shellac to give it a retro look and feel. No doubt my next project will have a Mighty Mite neck too!

Mighty mite definitely delivers when it comes to high quality replacement parts for your bass, and this neck is no exception. The grain on the fret board is beautiful, everything's smooth and has a really great solid feeling to it while not weighing down too much. Pretty much Canadian maple neck, maple fret board, you get what you paid for. Just remember to either know what you're doing, or get a professional to put this sucker on, it takes a little bit of drilling in the back to mount the neck, and then you're gonna want it perfectly aligned so you don't have any trouble with it. But otherwise I can't find a flaw with it, I love it.

Q&A

Have a question about this product? Our expert Gear Advisers have the answers.

  • asked byBass Dad

    fromPhoenix, AZ

What is the profile of the neck and the thickness at both the 1st and 12th frets?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
A standard Fender Precision Bass (P Bass) neck typically has a nut width of 1.625 inches (41.3mm), considered the "standard" for a P Bass neck, with a slightly thicker profile compared to a Jazz Bass neck, which is usually narrower at the nut; most P Bass necks also feature a scale length of 34 inches. The manufacturer doesn't spec thickness.

Will this neck replace a squier affinity PJ base neck?

    Open Reply - Gear-Support
No. The Precision Bass neck is not the same as a PJ neck . The PJ is more of a Jazz neck.
