After a quick demo at the Sherman Oaks store, the decision to purchase was an easy one. The Subway 1x15 was the best choice for me. I need gear to be versatile to cover any type of gig in any venue. The Subway 1x15 has a presence in the midrange that complements a Fender P-bass especially well. It handles the low-B string on the MM Sting-5. My hundred-year-old string bass, with The Realist pickup, sounds fairly natural and focused. From light jazz to praise & worship, to loud rock on a big outdoor stage, this cab (with a good high-power head) covers it all.

I bought the Mesa Subway 115 to use with a 2x10. It was not easy to locate one, and was not cheap. But wow, it is a beast of a cabinet with shaking lows and clean highs. I've found it has ample mids to use as a standalone cab, and use it standalone frequently. But really unbelievable with a a 2x10 top cab. I use a GK Legacy head, and it is the best bass tone I've ever had, possibly ever heard. Not heavy for a 1x15. Buy the fabric cover to protect it if not included.

  • Big sounding little cab.

I bought two of these. Great sound from a light cabinet. One is plenty for most of my gigs, but on bigger stages I use two.
