MESA/Boogie

Description

The Mesa/Boogie Flux-Drive is the overdrive pedal for those who want more of all the best features from an overdrive. It has more liquid gain and enhanced sustain that easily feeds into rich, harmonic overtones. This makes it both addictive and inspiring to play, whether it's into a clean amp channel or to enhance a crunch or higher gain channel. It also offers a more complete tone-shaping network with individual treble and bass controls, producing a more complete preamp with added versatility beyond that of most overdrive pedals.

Works great with an edge of breakup to crunchy amp to push it into a lot of positive directions. There isn't a mid-hump, and the controls really let it have some flexibility in this role with very movable treble and bass controls to manage the sound. It has a good range of gain, but is a different flavor of overdrive that I really like.

  • Smooth gain and flexible eq

Integrated well into my pedalboard well. Can provide low to medium gain. The bass and treble controls help fit it into the mix focus your tone.

  • Great sounding pedal that is built like a tank!

I use the Flux Drive as a primary overdrive/distortion pedal going into the front of my clean Fender Princeton or Pro Reverb amp. Works well with other pedals; boost pedal going into the Flux Drive works well. Nice amount of bottom end in this pedal if you need it.

  • Solid construction and great sound

I am a 40-year, 6000-gig Mesa Boogie Mark IIB purist. I've played and heard 1000 Marshall, Fender, blah blah blah, and other Mesa amps. The Mark II's overdrive channel has the thickest, silkiest, most articulated, expressive, and natural tone I've ever experienced. Best sustain, clean or dirty, of any amp. Biggest tone of any amp of its size - 1X12 combo. Somehow miraculously, the Mark II retains the unique sound of the guitar that is plugged into it. Given how clear the Mark II is, pedals diminish the quality of the tone, so I have played with it with no pedals all of these decades. In short I'm addicted to this amp. Then came the Flux Drive. The Flux Drive is the best overdrive pedal tone I've ever experienced, and the second-best tone I've ever experienced, second to only my Mark IIB. It is incredible to me that this was accomplished with a solid-state pedal! I previously thought this was impossible! The Flux Drive incredibly gives my Fender Blues Deluxe a Mesa Boogie personality. I previously also thought that was impossible Buy it! Worth every penny!

  • Best overdrive pedal I've ever used

Best overdrive pedal in the world. Sounds like a Fender/Mesa tube amp. Thick, sustaining, crunchy, yet perfectly articulate. Closest to playing LOUD in the dirty channel in my 1979 Mesa Boogie Mark II, greatest amplifier on Earth in my opinion.
