Martin Special 45 Style Englemann Bearclaw Spruce Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Natural

The Martin Custom Shop Special 45 adds a new level of luxury to the already decked-out dreadnought. The top is made from hand-selected, premium Engelmann Bearclaw spruce. Primarily found in old growth trees, it gets its name from the cross-grain patterns that almost appear to be bear scratches. Martin utilizes forward-shifted X-bracing for the top, which moves the center of the "X" closer to the soundhole. Developed in the 1930s, this pattern allows the top to vibrate greater for increased projection and a deeper low end.

This heirloom-quality instrument features East Indian rosewood on the sides and two-piece back. The satin-finished mahogany neck has a comfortable, modified low-oval-profile with a high performance taper. Abalone hexagon inlays line the black ebony fingerboard.

Antique white binding dresses up the Special 45, which is also outfitted with a black ebony bridge, bone nut and saddle, abalone headstock logo and gold Grover open-gear tuners with vintage buttons. It comes with a molded hardshell case.
