    Perfect for Me

This was my first premium guitar purchase, having played for years i was finally ready to get a premium, solid wood guitar. What I like about this guitar is of course the Martin sound - great for my type of acoustic rock and folk music. I wanted a made in the USA but also solid wood guitar. I also needed electronics as I play in a church band. This model has it all but costs over $1,000 less than the D-28.

They still can't get it exactly right

Four years after I bought this guitar, I find that I've worn the frets flat all the way up to the 14th fret. I also find that the side binding is peeling away from the waist of the body owing to the different shrinkage rates between the wood and the binding. User formus reveal that this is a common problem and is covered under warranty. The premature excessive fret wear is also a common forum topic. Apparently, Martin uses fret wire a little harder than lead solder wire supposedly to prevent excessive string damage. Seriously? I gotta do a $450 refret job with high nickle frets to save on a $6.00 set of strings? The guitar sounds and plays like only a purebred Martin can and the electronics are incredible, but I'm so disappointed in the craftsmanship and continued use of materials that are known quality issues. C'mon Martin, raise your game!

When I was looking for my next and final acoustic electric, I played many in the Guitar Center sound room and read reviews and watched many videos. I was amazed hearing the tones from this model guitar cutting through the rest and out performing them. This guitar will drive you to play better. Unplugged or plugged you will hear no finer sounds. Outstanding value. I compared primarily versus Gibson and Taylor. I kept coming back to this Martin model.

Decided I wanted an acoustic and I wanted it to be a Martin. I tried to be conservative and bought an x series and after having it for a week was just not happy with what it was for the cost for an hpl body. Took it back with the intent on a higher end Mexican Martin saw they had the dcpa4 on sale next to it for only 200 more so I tried both and the dcpa4 blew me away it was love at first Chord. They had 2 and looked both over and actually took the older one of the w 2016 model. I liked the fact it was stamped centennial to celebrate 100 years of the dred. I did have to adjust the truss rod a quarter turn to cure some fret buzz at the first 2 frets when strumming hard but man this girl sings. No regrets

This is pure junk. Martin should be ashamed. Binding came loose, terrible tuners and a flat, tiny sound like a Taylor. AVOID
