Martin
Description
Crafted with all FSC-certified woods, including a spruce top, cherry back and sides, a mahogany high performance neck, ebony fingerboard and bridge, and an African blackwood headplate, the OME-Cherry is Martin’s newest FSC guitar and is definitely worth checking out. The model includes gold open-gear tuners, and arrives stage-ready with Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT1 electronics so you can rock out and sound as good plugged in as you do unplugged. As pioneers in sustainable guitar building, Martin proudly partners with the Forestry Stewardship Counsel (FSC) to bring the world a line of great sounding sustainable wood guitars. When you play this comfortable, classy orchestra model, you can be sure that mother earth will be cheering you on.

Electronics
The Matrix VT Enhanced is unobtrusive, with no controls or holes cut into the side of the guitar. The easy-to-use Volume, Tone and Enhance Blend controls are mounted inside the soundhole for convenient access during performance. The resulting sound quality meets the Martin standard of excellence with an unmatched sound and responsiveness to touch and playing.

Enhance Transducer
Fishman’s Enhance Transducer is a bridge-plate transducer that is mechanically and electrically optimized to bring out the sound of the body, and the dynamic and percussive elements of guitar playing. The Enhance Transducer is specially designed to capture the longitudinal energy (dynamic and percussive attack) of the guitar top while being highly resistant to the transverse energy that manifests in string squeak, body handling noise, and parasitic feedback. It adds these body characteristics to the full spectrum audio performance of the Aura VT Enhance and Matrix VT Enhance to deliver a new level of sound quality and dynamic playing response. The result is a sound that is pure Martin, with more responsiveness to your playing dynamics and touch.

Note: Due to supply chain issues from COVID-19, Martin cannot guarantee a faux tortoise pickguard. During this time, the guitar you receive may have a black pickguard. We apologize for this inconvenience and as soon as the supply chain issue is resolved, the faux tortoise pickguard will be standard again.

I am a singer/song writer. I also record a lot of demos that consist mostly of acoustic guitar parts. The OME-Cherry will be perfect for lead parts over my all mahogany Martin. The craftmanship is superb. Look forward to many year of enjoyment, then to pass it on to one of my many musical family members.

This is my first Martin guitar and I couldn't be more impressed by it. The sound is so smooth all the way up and down the neck. This guitar has big sound and projection for a smaller body, but still sounds and plays like butter.

A truly remarkable sound. I had my doubts about cherry as a tone wood and wow was i mistaken. If you've never heard cherry tone wood, i'd place it somewhere in between mahogany and rosewood. Plenty of bass for such a small body guitar, with crystal clear overtones and sustain that just goes on and on. Fit and finish on this guitar is on par with the OM-28 just with a different tone wood and a matte finish on the back and sides. I play live and needed something with a bit more articulation than my Martin 15 series and this guitar delivered. I'm loving the enhance function when plugged in. I play a lot of finger style solo gigs and use some added percussive elements and the enhance function does a great job of amplifying those. I also play in a 6 member band and have yet to have an issue with feedback. The action was a bit high, but thats a simple adjustment. I'd also like to give a shout out to Martin. Its great to see a company thats being proactive and obtaining wood responsibly. I couldn't be happier! Would highly recommend.

Please describe the diffence between an "Orchestra" model and other standard models. Any idea when this guitar will be available to try-out in your Winston Salem store?

    Open Reply - Thomas
The Orchestra shape is half way between a dreadnought and a parlour. ... Shallower than a dreadnought and narrower in width, the Orchestra shape (also known as a folk/auditorium) brings the body closer to the player. Please give us a call for product availability 877-687-5403
