collapse expand iconDescription

The Martin OM-28 Modern Deluxe Orchestra acoustic guitar, a revolutionary new take on the legendary OM-28 that fuses vintage appointments with cutting-edge enhancements. Featuring a solid Sitka spruce Vintage Tone System top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, the OM-28 Modern Deluxe delivers the rich, complex tone that Martin is renowned for. Unique touches include stylish gold frets, open-gear tuners and a 1930's-inspired script logo, along with an ergonomic neck shape for playing comfort. This innovative instrument is crafted using time-honored techniques like dovetail neck joints and natural protein glue, yet also includes modern features such as Liquidmetal bridge pins and a lightweight carbon fiber bridgeplate for added volume and sustain. Available in Natural finish, the OM-28 Modern Deluxe is an acoustic guitar like no other—combining classic beauty with contemporary performance to inspire a new generation of players.

Vintage Tone System Top Ages Wood for an Authentic Vintage Sound

The OM-28 Modern Deluxe features a solid Sitka spruce top that has been specially aged using Martin's Vintage Tone System (VTS). By accelerating the natural aging process, VTS gives the top the same tonal qualities as a vintage guitar that has been played for decades. The result is a warm, open tone with complex overtones and a balanced, articulate sound across all six strings.

Redesigned Neck Offers Enhanced Playability

Martin has updated the traditional OM-28 neck shape with a slightly asymmetrical profile that provides maximum comfort for both rhythm and lead playing. Wider spacing at the nut eases fingerpicking, while a narrow taper at the higher frets facilitates soloing across the fretboard. Combined with a modified low oval profile, the redesigned neck delivers an ideal balance of vintage feel and modern playability.

Premium Craftsmanship and Components

From its dovetail neck joint and natural protein glue construction to its polished gold frets and open-gear tuners, the OM-28 Modern Deluxe exhibits exceptional craftsmanship and premium components throughout. Liquidmetal bridge pins with red dots add a stylish accent, while a lightweight carbon fiber bridgeplate provides enhanced volume and sustain without sacrificing tone. A hardshell case is included, protecting your investment and allowing safe transport to gigs or jam sessions.
