I love these and NOT just on my Martin HD-28!
I bought a Martin HD-28 and the sales person recommended the Retro 11s and a grabbed a pack. Boom. I was hooked and for three years have kept my HD strung up with Retro 11s. Recently, my PRS SE acoustic needed some strings and I was out of my D'addario Phosphor Bronze 12s, so out of desperation, I threw a set of Martin Retro 12s on it and BOOM! What the heck? The Retros are not just for Martins! Okay, game on. I ran to the store last night and grabbed a pack of Retro 13s for my small McPherson Touring. They come with and recommend Elixer Nanoweb and I have liked them but again…I like the Retros more. Now, it might be my personal taste and ear but I really like the sound and feel of the Retros. Easy of my fingers and my ears. Try one pack and see for yourself. If you are like me, you enjoy experimenting with strings to see what happens. The one guitar that I have that I do not like them on is my Yamaha. I prefer Ernie Ball Phosphor Bronze.

Tinny Sounding
In an effort to increase the woody, dry sound of my guitar, I purchased these, on Martin's recommendation. However, they sound tinny and cheap. I am going back to using the Phosphor Bronze Lifespans.

Brings out the inherent tonal quality of your guitar

Nickel/copper-alloy monel strings last practically forever because they don't corrode like bronze, and the alloy is relatively soft, so the strings are comfortable and flexible. They lack the metallic zing of phosphor bronze with less overtones, providing a more neutral tonality. They sound especially wonderful with mahogany guitars. Be advised that they may sound metallic when fresh, but after you play them in for a few days, they develop a wonderfully mellow, rich character. #sweepstakes

I discovered these strings when I bought my Martin 000CJR-10E. I was enchanted by the tone. Since then, I have replaced most of my guitar strings with MM12s (Martins, Seagulls, Yamahas, Lunas, Gretsches, etc). The improvement in tone is remarkable. I don't even consider any alternatives!

I put these strings on half an hour ago and I LIKE 'EM! None of the jangly trebles of the D'Addarios I've been using. But the best part is their playability. I've always struggled with barred 7th chords but with these strings I can play them without spraining my wrist.

These are great strings for my guitar. My guitar tends to be overly bright, and the retros definitely help to take the brightness down.

First time trying these. Sound great immediately, full and balanced. Not too clangy, just the right amount of brightness. Seem to give the true sound of my guitar's natural tone. Reasonably playable for uncoated. Fret noise is slightly audible, not necessarily bad though.
