Martin

Description

Martin’s proprietary Nickel/Copper alloy blend wrap wire provides for a reduced pick attack and allows the guitar’s tonewoods to be heard, not overshadowed. It offers a uniquely mellow, yet crisp, sound. Martin’s wrap is a solid Nickel/Copper blend, not nickel-plated, meaning there is no chance for defects to allow for corrosion. Martin's proprietary wrap is naturally strong and corrosion-resistant, so much so that it has been used in the propeller of dreadnought battleships and various machinery and tooling applications.

I have consistently enjoyed these strings. They are rich but give me some nights without sounding too sharp or tinny. They allow my Martin Junior to sound full and rich, so I rather enjoy that. And I think they are great but for price.

This is my fifth time trying to learn how to play the guitar and this time I got a much better can tour so I want to much better strings. I bought these at recommendations of several folks which I'm glad I did. These have a great home and a wonderful sound.

I started out using these strings on my dreadnoughts, mainly strumming and flatpicking. But the more I used them, the more I liked them, so I string up pretty much all of my acoustics with 11-52 retro strings. They preform very nicely in fingerstyle settings, aggressive picking and strumming, just really nice all the way around. They offer a clarity I didn't realize I was missing with bronze wound.

  • Only strings I use on my acoustic Martins
