MM11 Retro Custom Light is a great tone for a 1966 Gibson J50. Great for the vintage Guitars. I put on the Taylor Academy 10e and new J45 Standard, but It didn't work at all. I think Tone directly came from the dried wood itself. I also like the softer feel of the fingers and not many string sounds. Super long life too. Amazing strings. Not recommended for cheap wood-construction guitar IMO.

Tried these strings out and I'm impressed with the tone and sound . I have several Martin's and always use Marin strings. Put these on my Taylor 314CE. and very happy with sound from them. Might give them try on my ooo

Martin Retro's are my go to strings for most of my acoustics. Use them on all my Martin guitars to being out the natural sound. They also last linger.

I have played 50+ years, have tried every brand of acoustic strings, I have high acidic content, bronze strings are destroyed after few hours of playing! Martin Retro is the longest lasting string I've played!

Fewer overtones than phosphor (all those overtones can get to be too muddy for me) but still very clear and present. The martin lifespan phosphor's are good (coated, so they cut a bit of the overtones) but I definitely dig these more. Silver color is weird (cause I'm 45yrs used to seeing bronze color strings) but I don't care because they sound great on my guitar. If you're playing something that doesn't have a lot of voice already in the wood, these might be a little dry?I'm fortunate enough to finally own a solid rosewood and spruce guitar and these work very well with it. I'm a rhythm player in a country band, so lots of strumming, not too much finger-picking. Martin D16 Worth trying, take em off if you hate em!
