Martin
Description

The Martin X Series LX1E Little Martin Acoustic-Electric Guitar is travel-sized and made from sustainable materials to deliver legendary Martin tone wherever your music takes you. The LX1E features a solid spruce top and mahogany-patterned high-pressure laminate back and sides, along with a hand-rubbed satin finish for a sleek look and feel.

Sustainable Parts for Reliable Tone

The LX1E is constructed using FSC-certified Richlite, an impervious composite material, for the fingerboard and bridge. Unaffected by temperature and humidity changes, the Richlite components provide a smooth playing surface for years of reliable performance. The mahogany-patterned back and sides also resist warping and cracking for consistent tone.

Onboard Electronics for Amplified Sound

With the Fishman Sonitone pickup system, the LX1E delivers its signature Martin sound through any amplifier or PA system. The discreet under-saddle transducer accurately captures the guitar's full tonal range. Volume and tone controls are mounted within easy reach inside the soundhole for quick adjustments on the fly.

A Travel-Friendly Companion

Despite its small size, the LX1E produces the same lush, resonant tone that Martin guitars are known for. A modified low oval neck with a tapered profile offers comfortable playability for musicians of all hand sizes.

Low-Maintenance and Highly Playable

The LX1E's hand-rubbed satin finish protects the solid wood top while keeping the overall look understated and natural. The finish requires no polishing and is highly resistant to scratches and wear. Combined with the durable Richlite components, the LX1E has minimal maintenance needs so you can focus on making music.

One Great Little Guitar

This guitar is sweet the build quality is amazing. I was looking for a short scale guitar to compliment my other guitars. played the baby Taylor which to me didn't sound full enough, then the MartinLX1 which had a much warmer and a little deeper tone after a few trips to Guitar Center in Arlington heights Illinois and playing more guitars My heart settled on the LX1, since I perform onstage and also at small gatherings , Adam at the Arlington Heights store recommended the LX1E acoustic electric. once plugged in I was blown away by the rich fullness and that great martin sound don't get me wrong unplugged it sounds rich and clear like it's big brothers. but when plugged into an amp the on board Fishman really produces an awesome sound , everyone who hears this little gem cannot believe the rich clear sound produced by this little Martin when plugged in Thanks again to Adam and the Arlington Heights Illinois Guitar Center Staff . Like Adam stated You don't find the guitar, the Guitar finds You . would highly recommend this little beauty

I hesitate to recommend this one...

I really liked this little guitar, BUT...I read the reviews and decided to buy in-store so I could play the guitar before buying, and I'm SO glad I did. I went into my local Guitar Center and played THREE of these Martin LX1E guitars, including one that had been specially unboxed so I could try it after two others failed my examination. All three guitars had a very pronounced buzz in the frets. It was not that noticeable when I played them acoustically, but the buzz was very noticeable when I plugged them in to an amp. I even tested the amp with other guitars, to make sure it wasn't the amp. It wasn't. Its a great little guitar, great tone and very playable, BUT my advice would be not to buy this one on-line. Play it first. Play up and down the whole fretboard, and plug it into an amplifier and play again. I have been playing for more than fifty years and have never experienced playing three brand new Martins that were simply not up to snuff. Weird!

I love this guitar so much, I bought a second one soon after, and later added the non-electric version and installed a pickup myself. These little guitars are dream machines! Unlike most of the other Little Martin series, they have a solid spruce top; the sides and bodies are HPL, and this works great for durability, tone, comfort. They are an absolute joy to play. I pair them with Martin Retro Monel 12s (MM12), and boy, do they sing! I heartily recommend them!

The typical Martin warranty does not extend to the Lx product line. This is cheap garbage with a Martin name. Several other sources report these models are prone to splitting. It also sounds very dull. Terribly disappointed. Ruined Martin for me for life
