Description

Classic styling with a tight-waisted jumbo body shape, the J-40 has an East Indian rosewood back and sides, solid spruce top and a hand-fit dovetail neck joint. The jumbo body, combined with the forward-shifted scalloped X bracing pattern, produces a tone that is beautifully balanced with a powerful response and projection. The J-40 is the perfect instrument for enhancing the art of the singer-songwriter, and is a favorite among touring and session musicians.

Upgrades on the J-40 includes antique white binding, aged toner, open-geared tuners and Martin’s most comfortable Modified Low Oval with a High Performance Taper neck. A computerized Plek setup gives you the kind of action that will allow you to glide up and down the neck with ease.

    This is my 5th Premium Martin Guitar and now my Favorite. This Guitar has just the most amazing sound and feel. I am not going to say a lot more except I couldn't be happier with this fine instrument.

    I purchased a J-40 in 1985 and it still sounds great. I have never found another acoustic that sounds better so I never bought anything else.

    This guitar is beautiful to look at and listen to. The action makes the instrument easy to play. It is the best guitar I've ever owned and I had some of the best!

    do i have to buy a guitar before i can try it out? the local store doesnt stock any of the guitars im interested in. or can you send me info on a bigger store that might stock, Martin J-40 or D41 or D42
