The Martin GPC-X2E Grand Performance acoustic-electric guitar blends exotic tonewoods and electronics into a instrument ready for any stage or studio. Its solid sapele top and macassar ebony high-pressure laminate back and sides produce a balanced yet projecting tone, complemented by the sculpted grand performance body shape and deep cutaway for complete access to the 25.4" scale. The slim, low-profile neck is crafted from birch laminate for articulate sustain and features a 16" radius Richlite fingerboard for dexterous fretting. When plugging in, the built-in Fishman Sonitone system captures the GPC-X2E Macassar's dynamic acoustic voice with intuitive rotary controls for shaping your tone.

Sapele Top and Macassar Ebony HPL Back Offer Unique Tonal Blend

The sapele top of the GPC-X2E Macassar contributes a focused midrange and crisp high end, enriched by the macassar ebony back and sides that provide a warm low end and woody resonance. Together, these tonewoods create a bold yet balanced sound with rich overtones and stunning visual flair from the macassar ebony's distinctive striped grain pattern.

Birch Laminate Neck Offers Strength and Sustain

The GPC-X2E Macassar's birch laminate neck is crafted from multiple layers of birch pressed together under extreme heat and pressure, resulting in a durable yet resonant neck. Its Performing Artist profile and 25.4" scale length provide a familiar feel for intricate chording and melodic runs along the Richlite fretboard. The strong birch laminate construction helps notes ring out with articulate sustain and definition.

Onboard Fishman Sonitone Captures the Natural Tone

When plugging in the GPC-X2E, the built-in Fishman Sonitone pickup system accurately captures the balanced acoustic voice of its sapele and macassar ebony tonewood combination. Intuitive rotary controls for Volume and Tone mounted under the soundhole make it easy to shape your amplified tone for any performance situation.

Gig Bag Included for Portability and Protection

The GPC-X2E Macassar comes with a durable gig bag featuring padding, a water-repellent exterior and multiple storage pockets so you can take your guitar anywhere inspiration strikes. Padded handles and backpack straps provide comfortable transport, while headstock, bridge and endpin protectors help shield the guitar from impacts and scratches.

Love it

The guitar feels fantastic, and sound great once broken in. Sounds pretty good off and on amp. My old guitar had some pretty lifted strings making bar chords more difficult, but with this guitar they are almost effortless. Overall I am incredibly happy with this Martin. The only major drawback is the Vinyl back and side covering. It's not the nicest guitar, but its by no means a bad guitar. I'm glad I chose this as my intermediate instrument, and if you are an intermediate player looking to upgrade from your starter guitar I'd look no further. It comes with a pretty nice gig bag too. (I did go to stores and physical locations and play tons of instruments in my price range, and this one really did have the best sound in my opinion.)

Cheap feel and look

I made the mistake of downgrading from a SC13E to this guitar. The guitar plays ok but I am not a big fan of how it looks. It looks very cheap and the materials feel very cheap as well. I am a beginner player but I could hear the difference on the sound quality compared with the other guitars. Even cheaper yamahas sound a lot better than this. I would recomend to spend the extra hundreds and upgrade to a series with better woods for a better look, feel, and playability.

When I first opened the box it was lo e at first sight. This is a very beautiful guitar. The pictures don't do it justice. It gleamed against the light. It sounded much better than my beginning guitar. It is eaat to play and I cam play all barre chords with ease.

I'm not a professional guitar player by any means but I first bought a Taylor and it was very difficult for me to place my long fingers on the neck for even simple chords. Took Taylor back and bought this Martin and I can play guitar again effortlessly. Would buy this again and again!

An auditorium case such as the Silver Creek Vintage Archtop 000 Auditorium Acoustic Guitar Case would be a good choice.

'Black Richlite' isn't really black. The neck is more of a light brown.
