Nice Martin plugged in

The Guitar will need the Saddle lowered for better Playing performance and some neck tweaking. After that it will certainly be easy to play. If You buy it at the store get the guitar Tech to Set it up before you leave. I find that even lots Of expensive guitars also need some sort of Adjustment when new. After all that with light Gauge Strings it's easier to play. I bought it to Have an acoustic guitar plugged in. The guitar Plug in may have to be adjusted by extending It out some to stop any poping or miss connections That's pretty easy to do by your self. I just wish that The plug in was not circuit board mounted, cause It can't be a simple repair if needed. Once I got that Adjusted after 3-attempts I have no more issues And it sounds great plugged in. Some of these Issues should of been factory resolved but I'm Steel very pleased with mine and it's the go to One for performances plugged in. Keeping it Humidified with the sound hole Humidifier will Really make it sound nice. Inside the sound hole Where the guitar plugs in is a red LED to tell you The 9-volt Battery is working. The Tuner is a must And mutes the guitar when turned on in Sound hole. Keep in mind it's a smaller guitar so smaller sound Unplugged but really cool sound. I still have it a 5 Cause even with small issues I got it to perform Very nicely.

Martin made in USA with electronics and a cutaway body! What else you need? It's an expensive guitar (for me) but you would not disappoint with the sound, playability and the comfort when playing. I bought a rosewood one and it's amazing.

I bought the sunburst model. Most guitars need some Adjustments out of the box. After minor neck set and Bridge lowered some I play it constantly plugged in. The built in Tuner is great an very handy. The 16 Series Martins are good knock around guitars and Will fit any gig. Very easy playing neck. Finish work Is superb. Guitars need Humidity to keep them alive. I use a sound hole Humidifier. This also keeps it in Great shape an gives a better base response. If you Buy one at Guitar Center there Tech can set it up the Way you like. They also had a case that I bought For storage. It comes with the soft nice gig bag and I use that for smaller events. Overall I'm pleased And now have a great Guitar. I highly recommend This guitar.
Third Return

I've returned two of these and now considering returning the third. Martin QA is gone. This one I have the nut was cut wrong and had slippage on the 1st string when you do a pull off. Pretty ridiculous. You can't find a hard shell case for these, at least not the case Martin recommends for it, it does not exist in the real world. Instead they give you a cheap soft shell case. I know there are more expensive guitars, who cares, the guitar is still not cheap. The first one sounded amazing off the wall, but there were neck issues and so could not be set up properly. Order another, that one sounded like garbage. This one, the nut issue, the case issue, fret buzzes or electronics inside buzzing. Should be a great guitar, but no such luck. Sounded great in my home PA, at the gig, pick up electronics sounded terrible, it was all tinny sounding, like a Takameni.

I purchased this guitar eighteen months ago and it sounds better every month. I believe the thin finish is allowing the wood to breathe and age faster. I case store it and maintain the room humidity@ 45-55%. I play outside a lot and can't control the humidity there but high 60-90% doesn't seem to affect it other than a tuning tweak. I had a custom setup for a lower buzz free action. Friends with older higher end Martins love the neck and action. Unplugged it has a bit less bass and volume than a dreadnought, but that is to be expected with a smaller, more comfortable size. I'm considering ordering another one either with the mahogany body or the special with the burst body. I'm not a collector but do log many hours a week playing. This my first Martin and was pleasantly impressed and purchased a Martin hd35, about 6 months ago. Of course the 35 is#1, but sometimes there are places and situations where I'm more comfortable taking the 16 ,(at approximately half the cost) Tremendous little guitar, check it out, I believe you'll be very satisfied!.
