Martin Guitar Nazareth Factory Tour Part 2

Description
The Martin Special Dreadnought X1AE Style acoustic-electric guitar combines over 180 years of craftsmanship with modern technology for a performance-ready instrument with iconic sound. This balanced dreadnought features a solid Sitka spruce top with a customized rosette and durable rosewood-pattern back and sides. Its birch laminate neck and Richlite fingerboard deliver fast and even playability across the fretboard. Equipped with reliable Fishman MX electronics, the Special Dreadnought X1AE Style is ready to plug in and elevate your sound.
Sitka Spruce Top Provides a Solid Foundation
The solid Sitka spruce top of the Special Dreadnought X1AE Style drives its full, resonant tone. Lightweight yet strong, Sitka spruce is a premier tonewood for acoustic guitars, allowing the top to freely vibrate and produce a balanced sound with clear highs, warm lows and rich overtones. A customized rosette design gives this dreadnought a stylish look to match its lush sound.
Durable and Sustainable Materials
The rosewood-pattern back and sides are constructed from high-pressure laminate, an eco-friendly material made from wood byproducts and resins. HPL produces a stable, durable surface with an attractive woodgrain appearance while using sustainable forestry practices. A birch laminate neck and Richlite fingerboard, a material made from recycled paper and resins, provide a fast, low-maintenance playing surface.
Trusted Fishman Electronics
The Special Dreadnought X1AE Style comes equipped with Fishman MX electronics, featuring an undersaddle pickup and preamp with volume and tone controls. The Fishman MX system accurately captures the natural acoustic tone of the guitar and allows you to adjust the EQ for different live and recording situations. Plug into an amp, PA or audio interface and share your music with audiences of any size.
Legendary Quality and Value
Martin's X Series combines their expert craftsmanship with innovative, sustainable materials to offer high-quality, professional-grade guitars at accessible price points. You can't put a price on a fountain of youth.
I'm a 30 year casual player that has always owned a guitar. Sometimes a real pile of doo doo, sometimes a decent piece of sparkly doo doo. Owned electric guitars and bass that come and go but ALWAYS had a dreadnaught body acoustic near at hand. When my last Chinese made fender met an early demise I thought I would finally get the brand, if not the exact model I've always wanted. I still can't justify an American made model and I am very glad I didn't even try to convince myself that I could. It had to be fate because I made three different trips to play the guitars. I look like poor scum because I work with my hands and I tend to destroy clothes in my line of work. So even showing up twice in my best clean work outfits I was unable to get anyone to even unlock the door so I could gaze upon a genuine Martin. I just wanted to look. I didn't dare believe that I would pick one up and play. The third time around I had actually settled on a pretty decent guitar. A epiphone hummingbird studio in black. I hauled it up to the counter waving cash and they were going to help me now! While he held onto my choice I said, I will kick myself for the next twenty years if I don't at least try a martin before I leave. I won't be back again in my lifetime, and I can't possibly buy one anyway. But I had to know. So away we went and this time the door unlocked. I picked up this guitar, which I knew was the one hpl model they had with a solid top. The laminated neck looked sharp and felt great. The thing sat in my lap and played the three chords. Tears actually came to my eyes. I stood up with that guitar clutched in my hand. Nobody was going to test this one out again. In three chords i remembered what it was to be inspired by the sound and vibration of something new and exciting. How it felt to learn a new song. This guitar sounds like you are hearing music for the first time. Forget the song. You can't really put a price on that. I would have paid double for this exact one. That's all I had or they coulda got more out of me. Who cares. Work it out for the next 20 years and this much smile for $3 a month is like I robbed them. I can't thank Martin enough for making an entry level guitar that sounds so good the competition may as well be playing under water.

A few years later and it's falling apart

I've had this guitar for about 5 years now, it never gets used, has always been in a climate controlled home. it has a crack along the top, and the back is coming unglued from side. It always needs to be tuned, and the back and sides look like some cheap homedepot laminate floor.
A fantastic bargain

This guitar has the sound I was looking for. Great tone in an affordable Martin. Hard to beat it for the price. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend. Several have played it and commented on what a nice guitar it is.
Love that HPL sides and back!!

At 73, I play for my own enjoyment. Debated whether a "plywood" guitar (HPL) would be worth it. Just got it home. WOW! worth every penny ! It plays easy, original strings are good enough for now, fit & finish are good. I absolutely love this guitar made in Mexico and HPL and all!!
I like the guitar..

Picked up the guitar sent at the local store, after a couple days, I noticed a battery that was installed and left in it,then noticed the end pin was put in and a scratch on the finish there.. disappointed, should have been an open box...but it is a good sounding guitar
Ditto to "best bang for the buck"

This is now my main practice git. Have nicer ones to play out but love the feel, sound and value of this one and would play out if needed. A friend got one years ago and I dissed it for not being all wood...I have sought forgiveness...It is so well made and affordable.
Try it you'll like it

I'm 68 years old, been playing all my life. Never thought I would buy a guitar made with synthetic materials, but this guitar just plays and sounds great. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
