Martin
Description
The 6-string Martin 000-X2E acoustic-electric guitar features a 000-14 platform, an auditorium body designed to produce a clear, balanced sound that is perfect for live performance and in the studio. Pairing the Sitka spruce top with the mahogany-pattern HPL back and sides, the 000X1AE guitar has a clear, balanced tone, with all the sustain you have come to expect from a Martin guitar. The mortise and tenon neck joint ensures solid construction of the guitar, with optimal resonant tone, while eliminating drop-off in the finer dynamics.

The Martin guitar's laminate birch neck is a multilayered wood creation, bonding layers of wood under extremely high pressure. The material is then carved and finished in a conventional manner. The end result is a very strong neck that provides definition and articulate sustain from note to note.

The modified low oval neck shape, 25.4 in. scale, 1-11/16 in. nut width, and 16 in. radius provide comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fretboard.

This X Series Martin acoustic guitar comes compete with Fishman Sonitone electronics. The Fishman Sonitone features a sound hole-mounted preamp with rotary controls for Volume and Tone. The controls are mounted conveniently under the sound hole. All you have to do is plug in and play. You’ll have a great acoustic guitar sound, right out of the box.

Dressed in a satin finish and featuring chrome tuners, chrome hardware, this guitar has the look and sound of a highly collectible Martin guitar, but goes for a price that anyone can afford. Embrace the dream of owning your very own Martin guitar, at a price that is too good to pass up.

The Martin 000-X2AE guitar arrives stage ready - just plug them in and play.

I bought mine used from Guitar Center online. Other than very dead strings, it shows no signs of use. Had it re-strung with Martin Lifespan 2.0 phosphor bronze lights. In 2 days time it turned into a little beast. This is the most fun I've had playing, and my favorite guitar neck of all time. The 1.75" nut width and 24.9" shorter scale length, together with the performing artist neck profile are perfect for me. I've got large palms but short clumsy fingers. Anyone with similar or small hands should find this ideal. The fit and finish is great, I can't see nor feel any problems. The tuners are rock solid. The sound of this guitar amazes me. Very clear and balanced in tone and volume across the strings. Best sounding trebles on any guitar I own. What really surprised me is the volume and sustain out of the smaller 000 size guitar. I only play straight acoustic so can't comment on electronics. I'm pretty sure the solid spruce top is still newish. I can't wait to hear it when it opens up from age and relentless playing. It's not the overall best sounding guitar I own at the moment, I've got a couple that are twice the price. However, it's an absolute keeper and will see many hours of play. I can't put it down it's a blast. I've rejected a few other guitars I bought recently they didn't come close to this little gem. If you're looking for a 000 size with these spec's get this one. Find the spec's on Martin's web site, this is a big improvement over the 000x1ae. Lotsa bang for the buck here and a very generous return policy. Strongly recommended.

I've had mine for about 7 months now and I have to say it's hard to put down once you pick it up. If we're comparing apples to apples here than at this price range it's going to be harder to find one that sounds and plays as good as this one.Go check one out

Excellent guitar! Get one before they stop making them. Completely re designed from the old 000x1e. This one they got right. Gone is richlite fret board, long scale, and coffin heavy hard case, as well as that "its almost there tone" This new model has perfect tone, nice soft gig bag, fine wood fret board, and 24.9 comfortable scale length. Great for couch or stage. Martin really seemed to use their intellect and perhaps customer feedback on this one to make the perfect affordable guitar. The price is unbelievable so most folks will probably dismiss this model as we did the old Martin spruce top/hpl models that were "almost there". Way better than a GS mini because you cant even use those live and after awhile one realizes they are toys. I've played this new Martin next to my OMCPA4 and it keeps up, believe it or not. Its almost embarrassing all the money I've spent on guitars and then this thing comes out for $599 and its perfect.

The description here is still for the older 000x1ae. The x2e is a completely redesigned guitar, Gone are the stratabond and richlite, with many more enhancements. Comes with a nice padded gig bag. Seems to be new and much improved. For now, refer to martinguitar.com for the real specs until GC catches up on their website. If I hadn't already bought a new Martin recently, I would definitely give this one a try.

One of the reviews says this has a 1.75 nut width, but, the Guitar Center Specs show 1 11/16 which is 1.68. Can you verify?
