Martin has always been a leader in innovation when it comes to acoustic guitars. In fact, it was Martin who created the dreadnought body style, which was developed in 1916 and introduced to the public in 1931. Although it's been copied countless times by other acoustic guitar manufacturers, Martin's dreadnoughts are still considered to be the standard by which all other dreadnoughts are judged. With their DX Series, Martin applies their unique use of environmentally-friendly construction materials to their classic dreadnought body style. With that in mind, if you ever happen to come across the 2008 DX 175 Acoustic Guitar, don't pass it up. You'll know it when you see it: the anniversary artwork on this guitar's body was created by Robert Goetzel, and tells the story of Martin's heritage and legacy. This includes a picture of CF Martin himself along with the Latin phrase "Non Multa Sed Multum" at the top. As for its woods and components, the DX 175 boasts a rosewood high pressure laminate top, back and sides, a belly-style bridge and headstock, an X Series "X" top bracing system and much more. Simply put, the DX 175 is a stunning tribute to Martin's legendary acoustic craftsmanship. When C.F. Martin began his musical journey in 1833, there was no telling just how big of an impact he would have on popular music over the next decade. Today, you'd be hard-pressed to find a musician who isn't familiar with Martin guitars.
