I bought this cab, with a Orange Dark terror head. My original amp is a combo amp, and I wanted an upgrade. I was at guitar center and I really wanted the amp head, but wasn't going to leave without a cabinet to play through for now. I bought the MG 4x12. Their listed at GC for 259.99 I believe. I it was cheap... it looked okay from the outside so I bought it. it is a light cabinet, it does not sound amazing but... its very cheap. I am pleased enough with it aesthetically, but the speakers in it really kind of... fizz out and get muddy with lots of gain. The construction is cheap but, your paying for the speakers in it. Its a cab to get you started, to get the sound out. Definitely cool going from a 1x speaker or even 2x speaker set up to a 4x12. 4 horns all screaming just has a cool sound to it. Great place to start if you need something right away. Not a permanent choice for most. I am going to put my eminence red Coat speakers in and see how the sound changes.
DEFINITELY WORTH THE $$$

I am an experienced lead guitarist of over 20 years and I've owned tons of various equipment/amps/heads/cabs over the years.. And this Marshall 412 is great! I've used it at over 3 dozen gigs since I've owned it (about 4yrs. now)and there's barely a scratch on it.. As far as tone/speaker quality.. I've used this particular cab with a few different heads (ranging from a 200watt Randall solid state, to a Line6 MkII head, to my current config, a B52 LS-100) and I have to say, if you can't get a good sound out of this cab, then you shouldn't be playing guitar.. I've also ran several different processors/pedal boards through this thing, all with awesome results.. I've even had the aforementioned Randall at half volume, (about 100 watts) and there was no unwanted noise out of the cab AT ALL!! So all in all, a VERY good investment..
only marshall by name.

I bought this cab a few years back when i knew very little about guitar. I thought for this price marshall cab was a crazy deal. You get what you pay for with this. The cab is made of MDF which is low quality for cabs. All other marshals use birch ply i believe. The speakers are garbage i think celestion had very little to do with the design process. I swapped them out for some real celestions and it sounds better but still isn't great. Its very small too so you don't get that big sound. I am very dissatisfied with this cab. buy a different brand you'll get more than just the name.

I've played mostly solid state combo amps and I'd have to say going with separates is the only way to go! I'm playing an Orange 15W tube amp through one MG412A ...overkill...perhaps. However, I am going to upgrade to the Marshall MA100H and one MG412B (at guitar center)around tax time ;-) For those of you who have never played through Marshall, Make the dream come true of owning the most respected name in music amplification! Truly an affordable box with a well respected name plate. I am a beginner-intermediate player that got tired and frustrated with trying to emulate the Marshall sound so....Why not buy a Marshall system?
